There was a contest thing on the official website about making a deck around a planeswalker's flavor, and I did one for Bolas as he's my favorite three colors.

Flavor-wise, I think Nissa's the coolest. Unfortunately, she's not a very practical Planeswalker unless you have tons of one type of creature. I imagine a Merfolk or a Goblin Planeswalker would be just as effective.
My personal favorite is Chandra Ablaze (the new version of the otherwise awful Chandra Nalaar). At first it was just because she was the first one I ever pulled, but being able to draw cards and force discards is something that you don't usually get with a red deck, so I appreciate the utility she offers. ![]() "It's on my brain, driving me insane. Just purchases a load of cards from CoolStuffInc. Bought their "Instant Super Collection" which is like 400 com/unc cards, 20 rares, 100 basic lands, and 5 foils for 20 bucks.
Hopefully this will be a good start.

If I haven't said it before, CoolStuffInc is and has been my go to store for the past ten years. I've always bought from them and never been disappointed. Sometimes I grab stuff off ebay for cheap prices, but for good service (and they have newegg speed shipping) with excellent quality of the products (no damage), I go for CSI.

Got my cards earlier this week, separated them by color and then alphabetized them. I've made a deck, but I think the most difficult thing about deckbuilding from scratch is deciding on a specific flavor for the deck. But the only way to gain experience is to practice doing it, and seeing how the deck works. I made a green/black deck, so I'll eventually see how well it does. If it doesn't completely suck, I'll post it here.

It's been aaaaages since I played Magic. Since like, junior high. Maybe grade ten, idk. I collected wyrms. That's about all I remember. I -apparently- had some pretty rare ones.

I collect the skulls of beaten opponents on a chain around my neck. It looks great when I go to tournaments and sit down across the table from some ten year old that just started playing.

I finally learned how to play this!
I'm thinking about buying the Divine vs. Demonic Duel Deck: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Ar...feature/33 Basically because I wanted to make an "Angel" themed deck and this seems to have already done it for me. Waff says I should play a few more games before I decide to buy it though, so I'm gonna do that first. Oh also, the first game I ever played I totally beat Waff. Beginner's luck maybe? ![]()

I would put off getting the duel deck, mostly because it's so expensive. If you just want the angels part of the deck, it's about $22 on CoolStuff if you don't care which art/set the cards come from.
If you're looking for decks to use, what I have done is bought some of the Intro Packs, and used the other cards I have to augment them, keeping the same basic theme, but now better.

I have the Divine/Demonic deck offline. They are actually fairly decent for their price, also have Demonic Tutor in them (a card not legal for many years, but awesome to see reprinted with new art - though it doesn't compare to the old art), and the foil Akroma picture is beautiful. The thing is they have alternate arts on a few cards in both decks and that is what makes them good, and they aren't terribly built. I recommend any duel decks really.

Waff and I were finally able to get Magic to work on webcams. We played a game last night, and it went fairly well. Some lag with the voices, but I think that using bluetooth headsets w/ the ps3 chat will work better than trying to use both the ps3 and AIM in conjunction with one another.
Other than that, though, it was actually pretty good.

Just received my order from Coolstuff. Out of 23 packs, I pulled 5 MR: Baneslayer Angel, Chandra Ablaze, Lorthos the Tidemaker, Comet Storm, and Omnath Locus of Mana. Definitely planning on making some decks for them, especially Chandra and Omnath.

Omnath is one badass mofo is you can keep him alive, glad to see green getting some love

I would just need to get him shroud. I don't know if I would want to use him for the gigantic creature he would become or for a giant mana pool.

Canopy Cover is the way to go.

And then just build him up to like a 25/25, should only take a couple turns if all i do is block and gain mana, then give him trample. The opponent would have to either block with everything and lose it all, or take a shitload of damage.
It could be fun. I also plan on building a red deck for my Chandra and Comet Storm. I might build a deck for Baneslayer, but I dont think I care enough about Lorthos to build a deck for him.

Comet Storm is kind of cool. I've thrown mine around a couple of different decks and, really, it's best when you have a loaded Chalice or a Dark Ritual or that mana Ally. It's really easy to spread the damage too thin.
