When I went through the stacks, I found these tagged as "Rare"

Of those, only Abeyance ever held any value. Then Orim's Chant was printed, which does the job much better.

Still, Abeyance is worth around 5$.

Enduring Renewal, Ornithopter, and Fallen Angel.

Have Enduring Renewal in play, sac the Ornithopter to boost Fallen Angel. Since it has a cost of 0, you can re-summon it over and over again. It could be funny.

Yup that's why I had those cards, it was like instant win. I'd also tap war chariot so it'd be a flying trample monster that would literally destroy the entire enemy line up in one go.

I also had the altar which was infinite colorless mana, and I had one of those elixir cards which gave you so much health depending on how much mana you gave it which was infinite health too.

Anyone play the prerelease? Had a pretty good run, came 6th where I was playing. Got myself a lovely Emrakul out of it!

Didn't do great, went 3 and 3, but had a lot of fun. Digging that whole Eldrazi thing.

Getting to drop an 8/8 Annihilator 2 on turn 4 is pretty sick.

Ulamog's Crusher? I walked away with about 3 of those. Annihilator really ruins people's shit. I got that green card that prevents your creatures being sacrificed.
My last two games I sadly encountered Gideon Jura twice and used to great effect. Also took a Hellcarver Demon to the face, those things are nasty.

Didn't actually get a chance to go to the prerelease, but I am planning on hitting up the launch party this Saturday. I also just placed a $50 order at coolstuff, so I'm getting some boosters and stuff.

Yeah, the Crusher. I ended up with one of those and two of the Hand of... someone. Emrakul, I think.

Of the 15 or so games I played, I think ended up not dropping an Ezldrazi in 3 of them. Mana generation is just out of control in this set.

Its always just BARELY too slow to work.

EDIT: More specifically, it (as of this Friday) will consist of Shards of Alara, Conflux, Alara Reborn, Zendikar, Worldwake, Rise of the Eldrazi, and Magic 2010 Core.

Huge amount of cards will be standard legal once 2011 hits since if I remember correctly 2010 and 2011 will remain legal at the same time for a while. But yeah, this set definitely means a reassessment of anything you may have previously thought to be too expensive to justifiably run in a deck.

Got my order from Coolstuff today. Out of 20 packs, (10 Eldrazi, 3 WWK, 4 ZEN, 3 Shards) I pulled 4 mythics, 1 from each set. Out of those 4, 3 were red cards. Dragonmaster Outcast (WWK), Chandra Ablaze (ZEN...my 2nd of these), and Kargan Dragonlord (Eldrazi).
