I tried being a Bounty Hunter my first try, but then I dc'd or an update happened or something.

Then I went to being a Smuggler > Gunslinger. Lots of fun.

I have a bunch of classes I want to play planned out because I am gross like that. Sith Assassin, then BH or Trooper Shield Spec or whatever, then Operative ... and so on. I have vague ideas of which ones are going to be light or dark too. Only thing I'm worried about in this game is whether or not the PvP is going to be any good. The class mechanics give a great base for such stuff, but so far the arenas seem a little uninspired. Of course I'm judging from second-hand opinions and videos.

Really enjoying the cover mechanics of Imperial Agent. Combat in general in this game is way more fun than most MMOs.

Imperial Agent storyline is fantastic, as I'd heard. And it's possible to make an adorable Chiss, so my plan is COMPLETE. Might actually make that my main, but definitely my second character if not. You can also be a really nice agent despite the associations. I think I'm going to stop playing that character now so I can save the good stuff for launch.

I'm pleasantly surprised at what a big jerk you can be as a Jedi, though so far it seems to be just fairly dumb evil stuff as opposed to 'for the greater good' evil. But so far my Consular is basically following no Jedi rules and my master is like "That's really bad! Now here is your next high-risk mission:"

Bounty hunter/trooper: least fun class to me. Not to say it's not fun. Blowing stuff up is great. But a lot of spamming missiles so far.

But so far my Consular is basically following no Jedi rules and my master is like "That's really bad! Now here is your next high-risk mission:"

I'm usually ALL LIGHT SIDE and ALL PARAGON in BioWare games, but playing Consular has made me break that rule. The snapping point was when the Jedi were going to EXPEL some dude because he'd made a completely natural "mistake" in his training.

His master had told him to go and lift a giant boulder far beyond his abilities, and he'd been at it for hours and hours, even using the Jedi New Age power-up technique of finding inner peace through meditation. His master said there was something under the boulder that he needed for training or whatever, and he asked me to move it, not so that he could take whatever was under the boulder, but just to make sure that it could be done.

Naturally, me being a badass, I lifted it with no problem, and the dude's master comes into the scene complaining up a shitstorm and saying that he's going to toss the guy out of the entire Academy, wasting over a decade of the guy's life, because apparently persevering against a hopeless situation was the point of the exercise.

Well EXCUSE ME, but fuck that. He hadn't been told that he couldn't accept help, and he wasn't even doing it to cheat - maybe it would just give him the kind of confidence he needed. And sorry, we aren't freaking Sith - we're supposed to work together - and given that the master hinted NOTHING about what the message was supposed to be, one could have EASILY thought it was a lesson about cooperation.

I mean, I get that Jedi are terrified of 'shortcuts' and all, but how is using the tools and opportunities available indicative of some great personal failure on his part? Being resourceful is not evil.

Yeah, I got some dark side points lying for the student to save his ass, but fuck it. The only thing that could have satisfied me more was being able to punch the master a la Shepard punching news reporters.

Having just played the Republic flashpoint at level 10 where you're on the ship, I have to say it's the most fun I've ever had in an MMO. It was kind of ruined when a knight ninja'd my consular item, but shmeh, it's a beta. It's easily the most polished one I've played. Now to try PvP!

And on that topic Belle, I feel like both the Jedi and Sith are both too extreme. The whole no-romance, away-from-your-family-thing gets thrown out by Skywalker in the EU apparently. I was curious how they'd handle the romance thing, and I got darkside points for helping the Padawan couple. I think they tried to make it seem more evil by the fact that you HAVE to accept a bribe for keeping quiet about their romance. And also that they're kind of weird and evil seeming. But weird added caveats aside, it definitely does not seem darkside to me.

yeah...so, Sith side I have this quest to get a brain, right? dude's apprentice is all "hey, bring it to me first and I'll reward you, then after I fiddle with it my master will be disgraced, but you'll get payed by him too. This screams Dark Side Douchebaggery to me. I got light side points...what?

Also, since I intend to be playing as soon as possible I need to snag some sweet names. Tibbers, Fiddlesticks, TacoBell and Bee.

I think it's too late; this is supposed to be the last weekend they're doing it.

Both Laura and I are kinda late-bloomers in this game so we didn't make the beta either, but we will both be roleplaying ourselves a couple characters, plus playing individually on the side.

I rushed into trying out all the crew skills in the last few hours to get a feel for them, because I knew I'd be kicking myself for the next few weeks if I didn't. Regretted not trying it earlier, because any idle time is time that your companions can be finding shit. At the start, gathering missions are only a few minutes long so literally going for a piss can be PROFITABLE VENTURE.

So early start for the game starts the 13th. But nobody will get to know when they start until the day they get to start. Assuming we want to play together, whoever is first should choose a server and an alignment. I almost don't care what class I play, because I eventually want to get through all the storylines because they are badassery.

EDIT: Also, the Sith Sorceror has an entire fucking talent tree called "LIGHTNING". Fuck yeah.
