lol.

No, actually, I was typing that one up now. It's really not that complicated, but the whole thing is it requires really dedicated roleplaying. You have to roleplay to get enough XP to buy the Force-Sensitive ability, and then you have to roleplay a personal saga (about the same as, like, a spiritken quest here) in order for your character to be approved to tap into the force that comes with the force sensitive ability. Then, once your character has tapped into it, you can either have them train on their own or go to Jedi/Sith Academies and train. Again, requiring extensive, quality roleplaying. The advantage to training on your own is that you get to adapt the Force techniques to your liking, basically making 'custom moves' and the advantage to the academy is that while you must learn a specific set of moves without adapting them, it is a quicker method, and will also allow you to use the lightsaber weapon. Force Adepts (as they will be called if they do not attend the Academy) will not have access to lightsabers. Lightsabers will be powerful weapons that give a slight advantage statisically in a battle, meaning if a staffer can't judge it on roleplaying alone they weigh in those extra factors.

You should totally not allow Jedi.

Reasoning? I'm open to any ideas.

It keeps them as something special. So when a saga or something comes along and suddenly people have to help a Jedi take down some big nasty, everyone is all "ooOOOoo!"

And aren't Jedi supposed to be pretty rare? Every other member being a Jedi probably wouldn't keep things very true to the source material.

So...make Jedi unplayable but allow people to portray lightning throwing Shit...I mean Sith Lords? Or just doing away with them both?

Edit: And would races have any kind of abilities that would only be restricted to them and nobody else?

Jedi should be hard as hell to obtain. Something like every <insert time span here> one member is made a Jedi. So like after a year you'd only have like 3 Jedi... or something.

*nods* Sith should be as well. What's a Sith lord without having Jedi to face and worry about. How would Sith come about without having Jedi to convert to the dark side. Least that's how I see it.

Use a class system. Have people start out as plain old people, and then they pick the path they want to go, like Jedi, Sith, bounty hunter, pilot, whatever. Only make Jedi and Sith super hard to do. That way people actually have to earn it.

That was the plan, or something like that. I was planning on having 'prestige classes', and, like, as a reward at the end of some big 'saga' or something, if they did super awesome, I might say: hey, pick a prestige class. Jedi, of course, would probably be set up in the way I stated above, if I use the Jedi.

I would do it as have the person gain the 'force sensitive' attribute as similarly as a power-up is awarded here. Then it can be further developed into the possible Jedi/Sith through hard work.

I always play bounty-hunters though.

Don't listen to him Zangya, he's trying to sabotage your site, so he can steal your ideas and make his own Star Wars rpg. Or something.

But seriously, what's the point in having a Star Wars rpg if you can't be a Jedi? You'll struggle to find members if you decide to not allow Jedi's.

How about we make a compromise?

Getting chosen to train as Jedi or Sith = about as rare as fusion on CDBZ

I guess. But still, it's a new site, you'll be wanting to increase membership quickly probable, right? If you make becoming a Jedi this thing that'll take a years + worth of solid roleplaying and activity, I just think you'll find it hard to find new members.

Most reasonable thing I've seen thus far.
