Even if he did kill his son and wife, I have a great deal of respect for Benoit as a performer and worker.

Wrestling - Aero - 06-26-2007

I wouldn't say that the WWE had anything to do with it. They may hate each other while playing roles and gimmicking around for the purpose of entertaining the fan base.

The thing is that Chris cancelled his showing at the Saturday show and the PPV due to family issues/concerns. Now, one would believe that he did this so he could finish his work murdering his family and then end his own life. For all we know, he could have canceled and went home because no one was answering the phone, or any other suspicious activity involving his family and frisky business. He goes home and finds them dead. He placed bibles by their heads and then kills himself.

That's the theory I'd like to believe. Although, if he did indeed kill his wife and child then may he burn in hell.

Either way, I'd like to see some solid evidence that proves or disproves either.

Wrestling - Aqua - 06-26-2007

I think that if it were possible that he were a victim, the authorities would not be so sure of themselves. The ultimate tell will be the ful chemical autopsy. There was no sign of struggle on Chris. Therefore, he must have been first poisoned and then hung, or hung himself. If the autopsy turns out to be negative (meaning there are no foreign agents in his system... aside from the roids he was shooting) then i would assume the investigation would change directions. At this point, however, it seems quite clear that he murdered his wife and child. It's not as if he was some saint. His wife had filed for legal protection from him before.

EDIT: Also, if he was the one to strangle his wife, DNZ analysis, ginger prints, and the size of the marks on her neck will all prove his guilt.

WWE is a VERY corrupt business behind the scenes. It might be even worse then how they portray it in character. Like, seriously. If you arn't a very certain body type, you're doomed to be held down forever and if it seems the fans want you to be at top, you'll be fired or doomed with a horrible gimmick

People like Beniot fought through that glass ceiling, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone in WWE or involved with professional wrestling in general saw him as a threat. Again, this is just me rambling, nothing solid here

But yea, WWE is like a really rich, national version of the mafia

I still don't see the purpose of killing his child then. That's all. That's the only reason that my mourning changed into anger. The child. I consider any acts upon children to be wrong. If I knew someone that killed or molested a child, I'd think really hard about ending their life.

Wrestling - Burter - 06-26-2007

It's all speculation. I'm never going to believe he did it but I'm not going to rule it out either. Like Jeice said, we can't hope to ever know what he was thinking.

Wrestling - Raditzu - 06-26-2007

And what do you know about what actually happened? Not much. No one does. Save the getting angry until the facts are known.

Good god...

Wrestling - Aero - 06-26-2007

WTF . . . The details of how Chris Benoit killed his family are on a celebrity-based website? I refuse to take info from there. I should've investigated this myself instead of listening to other people.

Wrestling - Burter - 06-26-2007

By the way, in case anyone knew him, Biff Wellington is also dead. He was a very talented wrestler back in the day and I will also miss him.

Quote:Shane Bower, who wrestled as Biff Wellington for Stampede Wrestling in the late 80s, passed away within the past few days.

According to area wrestler Steve Rivers, Bower's parents found him this morning at home in bed, as they were concerned because they hadn't heard from him. Medical officials when examining the body believe he had been dead for a few days.

Bower was a top worker in the days of Owen Hart, Brian Pillman, Chris Benoit, Hiroshi Hase and so many others. He was also Benoit's tag team partner in what is believed to have been Benoit's first major U.S. mainstream match match as part of a WCW international tag team tournament.

I'll reserve my final judgement until the final biopsies (sp) come out. Until then, however, the authorities' opinion holds far more weight than random, speculated, off-the wall conspiracy theories aimed at saving face for a child-hood hero. The man was an entertainer. You've all said it yourself, the business itself is currupt, why it is you assume he's exempt from that corruption is beyond me... again, the facts seem to point, quite clearly, in one direction: double homicide murder.

I totally agree, as much as I hate to admit it.

But like Rad said, even if he was a horrible person, I'm still in awe of everything else he did and I do still wish to pay him respect for that. I'm not going to force you guys to show respect, but I do hope you won't do anything to stop me or anyone else from doing so

Wrestling - Aqua - 06-26-2007

The facts were not taken from a celebrity web site Turles. There was just a press conference on CNN from the Sheriff and the DA.

Wrestling - Aero - 06-26-2007

The Crime Lab should be able to clear up some clouds.

Wrestling - Celipa - 06-26-2007

My friend, who follows wrestling almost religiously, said that he suspects that Benoit's mother may have done something to the kid that caused him to snap. Not sure what his basis is on this, but just thought I'd toss it out there for discussion fodder.

Wrestling - Violet - 06-26-2007

I am not going to speculate any further until the tox reports and the final autopsy is complete. I am still holding out hope that he didn't do this crime, that maybe someone else had done this against the Benoit's will.

Wrestling - Bojack - 06-26-2007

Could he really have been whacked? =(

That is scary stuff.

One mistake doesn't undo a lifetime of hard work and dedication.

In Chris's case he made two costly ones. But I'm going to sig that quote.

Wrestling - Burter - 06-27-2007

Quoting someone from the wrestling board I frequent at, and who I agree with:

Quote:I choose to remember Chris Benoit as a phenomenal wrestler who may have suffered from severe mental problems. No, that doesn't free him of guilt, but I can remember him as I choose to just as anyone that wishes to remember him as anything else is free to do the same.

Wrestling - Burter - 06-27-2007

They're way overreacting now. WWE just cancelled it's Canadian tour, which is a month away

Wrestling - Raditzu - 06-27-2007

I would have gone on with the tour, but dedicated it to Benoit.

They almost might have some little "he would have wanted it to go on" stunt planned to announce the tour is back on.
