Dragon Age! - Tyr - 11-22-2009 Define what you call content. When I wrote bonuses, I meant as the story keeps on progressing, you have more use for it but not just as a +1 cunning bonus. I have only seen one thing the Warden has been useful for except for vendors and storage and that's this:
The blacksmiths there are skilled enough to make star-swords!
Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 11-22-2009 I've gotta say, I think the DLC items are way too strong and blatant "pay to make your character overpowered" incentives. Next playthrough I'm probably going to forego them, because you lose out on the fun of finding and using better items when you've got Starfang or Blood Dragon or Warden armor from level 12-14 onward. I'd heard that the DLC items were only good items for certain level ranges and more like additional content than being outright better, but my warrior characters have been equipped in DLC stuff most of the game now. On a somewhat related note, I also have to strongly refute that Warden's Keep totally had nothing to do with paying for extra inventory space. Personally I wouldn't want to play without somewhere to hoard all the stuff I don't immediately want to carry around. Things like this are why I really wanted to play on PC, where things like camp storage and respeccing have already been modded in. Dragon Age! - Sage - 11-23-2009 Yeah, I don't care if it comes with an attachment to simulate a blowjob. It's still a pretty weak DLC and certainly not worth the ~500 GP. Dragon Age! - Rafael - 11-23-2009 Yeah...any "extra content" that's available first day and happens to have a solution to a couple of the most irritating facets of the game=cheap bullshit imo. Dragon Age! - Vad - 11-23-2009 Uh. The blow job part would be worth it... That's just me though. Dragon Age! - Rafael - 11-23-2009 I would be curious to see how it was implemented Dragon Age! - Vad - 11-23-2009 What's really scary is the fact that I know how they'd do it. Dragon Age! - Tyr - 11-23-2009 Fleshlite anyone? Dragon Age! - Vad - 11-23-2009 Woow. Failtrain. Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 11-27-2009 Finally finished. Damn, that was satisfying. Up to the last battle, I was rationing my potions as best as possible but blew a bunch on stupid stuff, and had to use ALL of them in the final battle which much have taken like half an hour or some shit. Even used up all my
armies. Loghain took the hit for me, then I rode off into the sunset with Leliana. Good times.
Can't wait to run through with my 2-handed berserker now. I might actually have to take the difficulty off nightmare since I won't be a god warrior mage. Dragon Age! - Sage - 11-27-2009 Yeah, I beat it yesterday. The ending was... depressing. I, too, rode off into the sunset with Leliana. XD The archdemon glitched the fuck out on me, though. It was the fourth time I had to restart the fight, and when that happened, it was just hilariously easy, and I didn't even care. I was frustrated. And I don't really think the above is a spoiler. You fight the Archdemon. How can you possibly be shocked at that development? Dragon Age! - Vad - 11-27-2009 I only did the Morrigan ending. I have yet to do the Lelianna one... Dragon Age! - Juno - 11-27-2009 Alistair sucks. He's a great character, but he dies way too much nd way too easily. It'd be different if he, like, didn't die so quickly. I usually rely on Morrigan to be the main damage-dealer. (My group usually consists of Morrigan, Alistair, and Leliana). Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 11-27-2009 Statistically-wise, he's just the same as any other warrior. If he keeps dying, it's just because you're giving him low dex/con or crappy armour =P Make sure he wears 'massive' type armour if he's the tank. Something that surprised me about the ending was that
the archdemon never speaks to you. Not even a "now you die, mortal!" For all the buildup about them being supposedly intelligent gods, the one you fight doesn't even get a NAME besides 'archdemon', which is even weirder since it's actually named in the codex as Urthemiel. And the others were referred to as Dumat, etc. It's not like the end was devoid of awesome plot stuff and hard decisions in any way, but still a little disappointing.
Dragon Age! - Sage - 11-27-2009 Alistair's actually really good, if you level and equip him properly. He's useless without decent con and dex because he holds aggro. ...Because that's his job, so the other, frail, team members don't get their faces clawed off. Toward the end, my Alistair only died because the bad guys were focusing on him. I would have to imagine Shale would be better because... it's a rock. It's literally designed to kill things. But I never used Shale, so *shrug* Dragon Age! - Rafael - 11-27-2009 Shale obliterates Alistair as far as tanking goes. I'm trying a game with alistair as a tank, and it's not so bad now that I know stats better, but he's still worse. Dragon Age! - Sage - 11-28-2009 Yeah, I know, but the point is you don't *need* Shale. Hell, I'm convinced I could make Zevran my tank and come out okay. The only really hard fights in this game are the last one and Gaxkhang. Dragon Age! - Alura - 11-28-2009 I have a game where Allistar is my archer, Ogren is duel-weapon and Leliana is tanking with sword and shield. It takes awhile but it's worth it just for sheer entertainment value. Dragon Age! - Sage - 11-28-2009 Leliana's a rogue. Unless I'm completely off today, you can't have her learn sword and shield skills, so she'd be completely useless with that set-up. Dragon Age! - Alura - 11-28-2009 She can learn the sword and shield skills, she just can't learn warrior skills |
