Dragon Age! - Sage - 11-28-2009

...Hrm. Alright then.

Dragon Age! - Juno - 11-28-2009

So, after finishing what I thought was the end of AC2 and realizing I still had thirty more years to play through, I'm going to let that tide me over until Christmas. Going to rent Dragon Age again when Blockbuster opens, start a new playthrough, all that jazz. Trying to decide the best makeup - last time, I did Elvish mage, and it was okay but it did get kind of annoying at times CONSTANTLY having to open the menu to cast some of my favorite spells that didn't fit onto the quick-caster.

Dragon Age! - Tyr - 11-28-2009

You can just extend the quick bar you know.

Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 11-28-2009

Juno's probably playing the console version. Weep for us.

Oh and Jason's right on the Leliana thing. Rogues definitely can't get sword and shield skills unless you mod the game (in which case it's definitely doable).

I'm probably going to make Morrigan a hybrid mage with healing spells and spirit healer on this go-round, since I have an inkling Wynne may not make it to the end with my ruthless warrior >_> and I think spirit healer is probably the one specialization I'd call essential.

Dragon Age! - Ashe - 11-28-2009

I didn't realize this damn game had a PC version. I was qqing up a storm at work the other day when everyone was talking about playing it, woeing myself for not having a current gen console.

"What about that PC you built?"

"... There's a PC version?"

Now I just get to qq about no money instead.

Dragon Age! - Majicka - 12-08-2009

Alright. After the hype has died down a little bit, how worth it is this game?

Dragon Age! - Vad - 12-08-2009

One name.

Morrigan.

EDIT: Yes it was worth it. I enjoyed the story.

Dragon Age! - Majicka - 12-08-2009

Now, is it worth it if I buy it for console?

Dragon Age! - Sage - 12-08-2009

Sure is. I got it for console. Mage spells get a little intimidating but once you get used to the rotary menu thingy it's easy peasy.

Dragon Age! - Tyr - 12-08-2009

New patch makes rogues able to be both dagger rogues and rangers.

Holy shit!

Dragon Age! - Saz - 12-21-2009

Should be getting this at christmas. Anyone got any general tips for somebody new to the game? Is the character creation pretty straight forward and easy, I remember in Oblivion I kind of messed up my first character, making a light armour wearing warrior/archer/healer, when I had originally just wanted to make a generic warrior.

Dragon Age! - Saz - 12-26-2009

Yeah, thanks...

Anyway, got the game, really enjoying it so far. Alistair is like, an exact clone of my character. When I first met him, at first I thought it was my character talking to the mage (who I thought was Alistair). That was a confusing few seconds.

Dragon Age! - Kaden - 12-26-2009

Most of this thread is tips on creating and playing characters.

I guess most people just figured you'd, like, read it instead of quoting what's already been written.

Definitely getting this.

Dragon Age! - Rafael - 01-14-2010

I would totally buy this

Dragon Age! - Saz - 01-14-2010

I've been playing this game for about 17 hours and I only just feel like I'm starting to get to grips with it. I kind of wish I would have looked up some stuff about it before playing, might have stopped me from wasting talent points on my main character, but I guess it's too late to start worrying about that.

I'm not sure what my team should be. My character is a sword and shield 'tank'. Alastair is equipped with Templar armour and I've been using him quite a lot up until now, but I don't know if it's a good idea having two characters who pretty much do the same job. Morrigan is definately part of my team, she's a beast. Wynne, would be useful. I've turned Leilana into an archer, but I just realised I haven't equipped her with any armour... Oh and I gave Sten a greatsword, but he seems to die a lot.

What teams did you guys use, or did you mix it up to deal with different situations?

Dragon Age! - Rafael - 01-14-2010

I pretty much always go Shale/Alistair, then Sten on my mage and Morrigan on the others, and then Wynne. She burns mana like a beast, but she eases the healing enough that she's worth a slot imo.

Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 01-14-2010

Most people have answered the teams question already on previous pages =P

Dragon Age! - Saz - 01-15-2010

But it's 13 pages... =/

FINE, I guess I'll just have to scour through the thread.
