Dragon Age! - Alexander Trafford - 04-07-2011

Yeah, I've been hearing they rushed this game out the door. I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I'm starting to notice it more second playthrough. There are literally like 6-8 different area models, and they only vary from one another by restricting certain areas within them (locked doors, blocked passages, etc.) And NPC reaction is infuriating.

IF I'M A BLOOD MAGE, THEN I WANT TEMPLARS CHASING ME IN THE STREETS AND PRIESTS HURLING HOLY WATER AT ME. I WANT TO HEAR CHILDREN SCREAMING AND WOMEN RUNNING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION.

They should use the love/fear (whatever) system from Fable that governs random citizen reactions. If you're mad evil in Fable, bitches run away. Take that, and then customize it based on character choices (Blood Mage, Murdering people, DEAD BODIES IN THE STREETS).

Dragon Age! - Rafael - 04-07-2011

Yeah, they really sort of ignore the you being an apostate running around blatantly all the time, to say nothing of if you pick and use blood magic. I didn't even care for the skill so much as hoping there would be special interactions for choosing that skillset, but alas...

Dragon Age! - Alexander Trafford - 04-07-2011

Hemorrage is kind of fun and blood enslavement isn't that bad. I liked it because I leveled my constitution and will, instead of dumping a lot in will power. When i wasn't in blood magic mode, i had more health, then when my will deteriorated, i jumped to blood magic and had a ton of stamina/health to use and survive. and grave robber is nice.

Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 04-07-2011

Yeah, the further I get the more evidence I find of it being rushed. Nothing gamebreaking, but just very frequent annoyances like second waves of enemies not aggroing until I go and find them, or quests that once completed, don't properly move themselves to the 'completed quests' page, or whatever.

And this is mostly unavoidable stuff, not random stuff. That's what makes it most annoying, it's not like the bugs are hard to find.

Dragon Age! - Alexander Trafford - 04-07-2011

Yeah, bunch of quest bugs. Most annoying was the 5 tomes. I found them all and it stayed there. I know why, but at least notify me and tell me that i effed up and I won't be advancing.
don't read any of the books. destroy them all right off the bat. Then after the fifth one you'll get this secret passage finder thing and get to fight some uber-powerful baddie who's supposedly really cool. I read the first one because I wanted the power.
Dragon Age! - Rafael - 04-07-2011
well, shit. I couldn't find any reason to not read the books while I was doing it, so that's what I did. Oh well.
rage@all the Merrill conversation glitches. There's one in act 3 that triggers a conversation about an event that hasn't actually happened yet, which is bizarre and spoils some pretty big stuff. You can fix it with a save editor, but really Bioware, really?

The fight at the end of act 2 is a huge letdown. Was just tedious and not fun, only fight I've turned it down to normal for so far just to get it over with faster.

Dragon Age! - Vad - 04-08-2011

I'm thinking of continuing my mage playthrough...

Must be a PC thing, I had no glitch issue.

What? WHAT?! The leadup to the Arishok fight (if you did all the Arishok sidequest/mainquest businesses throughout) and the actual fight were fun. What's your make-up? I'm a male rogue assassin so maybe because I had to dart around and use abilities that never did made it more fun for me.

Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 04-08-2011

The leadup to it was as fun as anything else, but I just thought the game isn't action-y enough to have a 1 on 1 fight be fun. I was a two-handed warrior with berserk/reaver. Probably would've been more fun as rogue since you have ways to dodge other than just strafing around constantly and waiting for an opening to hit him a few times, then repeating, which I found boring as fuck.

Did anyone run into the Isabela attack speed glitch?

I got her friendship high enough to unlock it and now I'm terrified that it's happening. Really didn't help that I took off gear giving me ~10% AS.

Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 04-08-2011

I didn't think so, but I got paranoid after your post and checked with the save editor. Got 1 stack at -5% attack speed. Fffffff. Another thing I have to fix myself.

May as well link this right now: http://www.trainerbeta.com/dragon-age-ii-gff-v4-0-editor-by-mephales.html since if you're using Isabella you'll probably need it to fix your game each time the game removes Isabella from your party (like when you go back to Hawke's mansion). Once again: ffffff

Edit: this prevents the bug from happening: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2299

Edit2: I just remembered some people are playing on consoles. Shit =/. I'm glad I ended up getting it on the PC, at least. This is ridiculous.

Dragon Age! - Kaden - 04-08-2011

Thanks for those links. Dropped in the AS bug fix, but I'm going to check my save to see if I already have some stacks of it.

Really disappointed with the number of bugs still in this. Especially those with the severity of Isabela's.

Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 04-12-2011

Apparently there's also a bug where if you romance both Isabella and Merrill, but stick with the latter, then the ending acts like it was the opposite.

Think I'm just gonna put this down until they fix this shit.

Dragon Age! - Alexander Trafford - 04-12-2011

I only experienced one bug in the whole game. It was when I did some searching side quest that was about killing a bunch of baddies looking for this mage, then I finally got to the mage, he gave me a shit staff and the quest was complete. It had the complete message, but it never moved over to completed in my journal.

Console > PC

Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 04-12-2011

PC and console versions are the same. The one above, with Merrill's craziness, only happens if you have her at max friendship or rivalry. Same with Isabella's attack speed (but only friendship). So basically, to avoid bugs, don't make friends with anybody.

Dragon Age! - Alexander Trafford - 04-12-2011

max friendship everyone but Fenris, no bugs.

what say you now, good sir?

Dragon Age! - Super Buu - 04-12-2011

You lucky. =P
