Into the Future - Violet - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Reijin I havenmt even been on Chubbs for a year and a half yet. Oo But I was moving and stuff, remember? I had to keep putting it on hold. But I guess it should be enough time to finish it. I got other players working with me, so I got to consider their time needs too, you know? Into the Future - Super Buu - 03-12-2007 If people have a problem with the idea I'd rather just not do it. Into the Future - Reijin - 03-12-2007 Both of your stances of being against it are noted. Into the Future - Super Buu - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by ReijinDoes that mean you're going to do it anyway? >_> Into the Future - Reijin - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Super Buu Hypothetically, if we do it, is there something wrong with it? Into the Future - Super Buu - 03-12-2007 If people are against it because it would screw up their storyline and others are for it because it would be neat, I think you should listen to the people who are going to be adversely affected. Like I said in my first post, I think it'd be neat, but only if it's not going to screw things up for other people. I'm far too used to the same happening to me and being totally fucked over because someone things an idea would be "pretty cool". =P This is all assuming you don't find a method that people can agree on. I'm just saying that if you can't, it would be better to leave things as they are. Into the Future - Reijin - 03-12-2007 At the same time, though, you two are both against the entire reset, or were at the time. Into the Future - Super Buu - 03-12-2007 o_0 Yeah. And? Into the Future - Vegeta Jr - 03-12-2007 As far as I can tell, most people who replied in this thread agree on a timejump. To the ones who wouldnt like a timejump Im asking: Why not? What would be the difference between not having such a jump in time and having one when you can use flashbacks/fluid time/talking about the past to fill those years in for yourself? Especially since it also gives a lot of people a great opportunity and freedom to create a past they want. Into the Future - Hellfighter 17 - 03-12-2007 Can I ask this: why have a time jump? Into the Future - Super Buu - 03-12-2007 Personally if you're going custom I don't see the need. You can create the past without a time jump. As far as I can see, the only things it affects are the canon characters, and what happens to old canons. Into the Future - Violet - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Reijin Yeah, I was against the reset. I am still a little iffy on it, but if the ends justify the means, then sure. Ok. Stats really aren't anything but playing fodder, anyways, right? I said I would be cool with the time jump if it were a small one, not a huge lapse in time, if I, and other players, who are currently doing things, may not finish in time when the Turnover happens, could finish what they are working on after, fluiding whats left of whatever they are working on and picking up the change afterwards. If we could do that, then sure. Cool. It'd be interesting. Although, I don't really see too much of a point in it, except for some good RP fodder. Into the Future - Yamu - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Raditzu I'm confused by this. The 'why your character didn't change' part. If you guys want to do a story line, I'll find a way to make it work for Yamu. Basically, I'm withdrawing my objection. At the very least it will give me incentive to churn out the posts I want to get done before Turnover. Into the Future - Old Zangya - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by YamuRad's saying that if you want nothing to happen to your character, they'll explain why nothing happened to you while something happened to everyone else. Into the Future - Yamu - 03-12-2007 Ahh, got it. Danke, Coola. Into the Future - Tobias - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Hell Fighter 17 Because everything is going to change. Not only is it a nice symbolic way of saying we moved on, and puts people in the right mindset, but it sheds the baggage of the old Chubbs universe and alot of the making up excuses as to why things are the way they are now. It opens up saga and plot ideas, sets up some excellent RP fodder, and is just damn cool. It's as close as we can get to "wiping the slate clean" without a pesky total reset. Into the Future - Vegeta Jr - 03-12-2007 It also creates a free "breathing space" to create new backgrounds for people. It also ages Kajin Rala a bit, incase someone wants to base their background there. Into the Future - Old Zangya - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by CornissOr you could always do flashbacks via quoting your previous rps or saying that it happened before you began rp'ing. Into the Future - Raditzu - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Super Buu Except that 23 people have said that they want a time-jump. Like I said in the OP, we're probably going to do whatever wins the poll. Into the Future - Bra - 03-12-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Hell Fighter 17 The only solid answer so far has been "because it'd be cool."
