I hate Naruto analogies, for the record.

I have no idea what Naruto is, and i understand the don't god mode point. I was just trying to clarify what i thought Rod's point was, since it was an actual point that made actual sense.

But it doesn't really matter if it makes actual sense. The rule is no bullshit god-moding with Afterimage. What was posted was an attempt to rationalize the use of Afterimage for bullshit god-moding.
There's nothing wrong with the train of thought, but it's dealing with an issue that doesn't actually need to be dealt with. ![]() "It's on my brain, driving me insane. It's on my mind, all of the time, and if it left... I would be fine."

Just read the posts in the order they were posted and it should make sense.

Just to clear it up: The underlying point behind the Naruto comment is this: Afterimage from DBZ is, for the sake of final result, the same technique that people have used in multiple anime. Yeah, "the character has to set up Replacement Technique in advance" but I'd like someone to point out to me a moment when it was actually set up in advance. No, I don't mean "The writer showed a flashback after they had swapped back and forth in a five log chain for a single attack how they had each out-thought the other like the Cicillian of the Princess Bride" type thing. I mean, show me where the writer has them chilling out one day and going "Ok, I think the fight will happen something like this, so Naruto, I want you to place that log right here and dress it up to look like me, ok?"
That's what we are told happens, but the writer has no structural reason other than "its lame to overuse this getaway card" that prevents him from blurring over just doing it. We do not have a game structure that says "it costs __ Action Points and two turns to set up that technique in advance".

I have absolutely no idea what Naruto is or what you're even arguing about, i was basically arguing on form alone. I really don't care either way, I just read Rod's comment and then read Sage say that it had nothing to do with the point, when it had everything to do with his point. So i figured i would try to clarify, i have no objection to what you're saying and i'm not trying to argue.
