Why should Blizzard care about old timers who don't play anymore? If they didn't return now, why care if they say they won't return if this is implemented?

I know a few people who quit because their server died on either alliance or horde side for progression and they didn't want to reroll elsewhere. Now they have an alternative to keep playing.

Besides, if a change brings in 5,000 new subscribers, and loses 1,000 old timers. Which one do you think Blizz would pick?
