Dungeon Fighter Online: Streets of Rage + Disgaea = win
#4
I've been leveling up a few characters, and had mixed results.

I've had the MOST trouble with the Mage. This is probably because she was my first character, and I spent a lot of points in skills I eventually ended up not really using - and, unfortunately, there's no real system in place to 'respec' until level 18; and then only once.

Finally hit level 18 and went Battle Mage, and oh God is that a change. I'm level 21 now and have been having a total blast with it. Main complaint? Way too many buttons to press.

My new anti-boss combo is dashing in with a double tap movement, then hitting the attack button (X) for a dash attack... Then: X, X, X, S, A, D>F, G. Triple X for full normal combo, which I then cancel the backswing with my S button skill, a stab, which I then lead into a launcher (A), charge Palmblast (D) and, once I hit, immediately hit F to unleash a chaser orb to smack the enemy away... And follow up with G, my long range grab, to collect them before they hit the ground and smash them down.

And realistically, I should be hitting F more because Chasers (little elemental orbs generated by your fighting moves) can be launched after every physical attack that lands - as long as you don't run out.

Priests are definitely the EZ-mode class for the beginning. Not only do they have self-heal (which is actually not that big a deal), but they have a front+back special attack to take care of monsters around you and launch them into the air. He has a drill punch that has a high critrate at the end and penetrates to multiple mobs, and he has a grab where he gets an enemy by the throat, runs through everyone in front of him, and then HURLS them into a wall/into other enemies/across the screen. With all these abilities combined, it's very easy for a Priest to stay untouched for most of a dungeon.

Fighters are kind of in the same boat, but they don't have that front+back strike right off... But they make up for it by having a great 4-hit normal combo and two high damage, easily comboable specials.

Slayers feel kind of clunky to me, but mine's only level 9 soooo.
