Ah, what the hell:

Section 249.2
(The Highway Traffic Amendment and Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation Amendment Act)

Knuckles whiten, exhaust notes burble,
Uncomfortably quiet, hushed voices and engines hum,
Anticipation mounting, adrenaline surging,
Arms and legs are shaking, fingertips gone numb.

Hands drop, clutches pop, tires shriek and scream in protest,
Machinated monsters roar and growl and hiss,
Rubber grips and claws at pavement, needles swing right,
Trepidation discarded, substituted, incoherent bliss.

Clutch is kicked, upshift, tires howl once again,
Building furious crescendos, mechanical art,
An eight-cylinder Trans-Siberian Orchestra,
Pinpricks of light bound ahead, a four-wheeled dart,

A lack of alternative venues lamentable,
Improvisation inevitable,
Cross the line, sense of victory bracing,
(Dangerous operation while street racing).
