OOC: I have a lot of ground to cover in this post...so...sorry for the length. ^_^
Dawn pressed against the horizon. They say that night is always the blackest right before the sun began its break over the gentle swell of the earth, and it was times like this that only furthered the theory?s truth.
A gentle sigh escaped her softly pouting lips as Violet gazed into the deep, dark eyes of Seventeen. She hadn?t gotten to meet the android beyond a few simple words after Red Stallions and earlier in the night when they had met up at the park.
?So you are our almighty leader, then, huh? You look a bit scrawny to me.? She huffed, crinkling her nose. ?No offense.?
Rebuffed by her comment, Seventeen shifted his feet on the limestone steps. ?Not everybody can be a fat, rich guy, you know;? he replied with a half smile. ?But, I do say that it is about time we got to speak to each other beyond a few jovial comments. Hopefully now we can pass the formalities and get to know each other.?
She nodded once, and shifted her gaze to Kid Buu. ?It?s about time you caught up. I was getting bored out of my mind waiting.? Violet greeted the smaller majin with a slap to his rubbery shoulder. He rubbed it swiftly, trying to get the stinging feeling to subside.
?Ouch, Violet! Did you have to hit so fucking hard?!?
She chuckled lightly, and turned her attention back to Seventeen. ?Now that you two have-?
?Hey!! You!!?
The voice cut her off mid-sentence, and the small group turned towards the approaching shadow. It advanced rapidly, until they could see the shimmering grayness of the man?s hair and beard, and the bright white stripe across the man?s torso.
?Anyone know who this nutjob is?? Violet questioned to her small group. The man finally caught up, stepping lightly onto the steps of the monastery. He took the scene in with one long gaze, his light colored eyes sparkling in the moonlight.
?You guys aren?t going to kill me, are you?? The older man?s face was lined with faint wrinkles, but the essence of youth still fluttered in his aged features.
Folding her leather clad arms over the gentle swell of her breasts, Violet began tapping a foot impatiently. ?Unless you have a good excuse as to why you cut me off, old man, you better say your prayers.?
He smirked, placing a nervous arm behind his head and chuckled. ?Oh, I must apologize.? He stuck out his hand to her in polite greeting. ?Name?s Jackie.? Vi, being the great ambassador-like person she was, took it, echoing his gesture at formality.
?I?ll just stick to old man, thank you very much.?
?Ah?ok.? His eyes faltered as they darted to the other two. ?You guys got stuck in this game, too, eh??
Seventeen nodded his head, affirming the old man?s suspicion. ?Yes. In fact, the entire clan of Civil Unrest is participating this year.? He beamed with pride.
?As soon as we find the rest of them, that is, we will be forming a party. Safety in numbers, that is the way to go.? Kid Buu amended, reaching behind him to fish what Vi guessed was a cigarette. Her hypothesis was confirmed when the small majin placed it between his lips and lit it with a small burst of ki.
?You know smoking is bad for you, don?t you?? Vi scolded, shaking her head.
He took a long drag of the stick and exhaled, a plume of smoke rising into the sky and dissipated. He faltered over saying that he had been doing it for years, but that was only Dunhan speaking. ?And your point would be???
She smacked her lips in frustration. ?Nevermind. Just don?t blow that shit into my face.? He did so anyway just to spite her. ?Not funny, jackass.? She coughed, waiving away the cloud of smoke.
?Oh, sweetie, you know you love me.? He chided.
?Whatever.? She rolled her eyes. Turning her attention back to the newly formed party, she said; ?What say we get a move on and try to find the rest of these losers??
?So, you are with us, then, right, Jackie?? Seventeen asked, the old man nodded his head. ?Well, that settles it. Let?s move.?
As they set on their course, the sky began to lighten, the morning sun threatening to spill its radiant beams over the island. They continued in silence, trekking through a small stretch of prairie, and then onto the thick stand of trees, finding themselves traversing through a forest just as the sun finally peaked through the thick, sparkling foliage.
They stopped only when necessary, either to answer the natural call of their bodies, or to chew on a piece of the rations provided to them in their supplies sack.
When the bright rays spilled over a clearing, the sky had finally cleared to a vibrant blue, the kind you could only find at the birth of morning. That coupled with the raw beauty of the scenery, it made her catch her breath in excitement.
?You don?t see this everyday.? Sighed the android. Violet glanced over at him, the gray streaks in his onyx locks now apparent now that it was daylight.
?My sentiments exactly.? The female replied, echoing the sigh. She turned her head back to the path, finally, they reached a meadowlike stretch of land that spread out for several kilometers, nothing but grass and rocks. The incline of the hill wasn?t too noticeable, in fact, if it weren?t for the bright pink head tail swinging in the distance, Violet would have sworn they were on flat land. ?Is?is that who I think it is??
Kid Buu huffed. ?So the moron somehow managed to catch up to us. Funny.? He put out his third cigarette since departing from the monastery. Damn chain smokers, she thought darkly to herself. Without hesitation, Violet took off in a mad dash towards the beacon that was Super Buu, whose surprised face lit up at the sight of his comrades directly behind her.
?Hoy!? He greeted, waiving one long, pink arm. ?I brought a surprise!? Right behind him, sure enough, was Sixteen, and peering over the taller majin?s shoulder was the light blue cat, Puar.
The two groups convened, making their greetings and deciding that they should travel the island of Dante together. It sounded like a plan to her, and the newly formed clan made their way across the field to take up residence at the edge of the forest. It would have to do for now, until they could search for a better place to wait out their week on the island.
