"Ahem! Wake up, my little warriors!" The voice came over the loud speaker, startling Murasaki from his slumber. The ninja didn?t mean to fall asleep, yet the injury he had sustained must have made him pass out. His leg felt slightly better; no doubt he would still be limping for a while. His eyes scanned the horizon, birds chirping in the trees that line the roadway to the west, a few deer here and there grazed upon the grass lands.
The ninja?s stomach growled at him. It had been a few days since he had last eaten; the dry chicken taste slowly came back to him, plaguing him with its texture. His eyes narrowed, his pupil?s stationary on the deer. His stomach began to churn again, yet no food was there to be processed.
Stop it, he thought to himself as he curled up his fist and smacked his stomach twice. His back ached, not such a good idea. Slowly he rose, his leg still not up to full strength. His limp wasn?t as bad, but still there, noticeable to anyone who could see him. The sun slowly poked its head over the mountain, its yellow light rushing down towards the surface of the island. Its warmth was welcomed after the cold night before.
Slowly he descended from his tree post, the bandage that covered the holes upon his back cracked as he moved. The bleeding had stopped but much to Murasaki?s dismay the pain was still with him. Damn that Karl bastard. A med kit would have been nice to start with. But noooo, I have to get stuck with this thing, he thought, looking down at his wrist. What the hell is this thing anyways? It didn?t appear to do much good against that metallic beast back at there, how is it ever going to save me in the long run?
As he reached the ground he stretched a bit, his leg beginning to loosen up as he did, his back however shot into more pain then before. He threw his hands back, falling forwards to his knees screaming out in agony. It didn?t matter if someone heard him; he was on his last leg anyways. It was just a matter of time.
Looking up once more a deer had come over towards him, a fawn to be more specific. Ahh?.breakfast has arrived. Pulling a few blades a grass from the ground he lured the deer closer with a false sense of hope. As the fawn approached the ninja swiftly rose to his feet and gripped the deer by the ears. Tugging slightly he ripped at his head. The tendons that attached the head to the neck ripped first, followed by the muscle. The body of the fawn fell lifeless to the ground, Murasaki still gripping it began to tug and turn the deer?s head. A crack could be heard, followed by another as the bones cracked under the pressure.
The body now completely on the ground began to ooze red blood from its open neck. Murasaki holding the head still in his hands chuckled to himself a little, Well, they did say we would find ourselves out here?
