Keeping his gaze low, the droid did his best to ignore the occasional gaze by one of his fellow contestants. He had spilled out more than he had originally intended upon and felt a bit sheepish. Though he trusted these other men, he wasn?t exactly sure as to the reasoning for it, after all, he had just met them. For some reason, he just felt completely at peace and at home with this lot, a feeling he hadn?t felt in a while.
WHAM!
Thirteen suddenly smashed his head into an amazingly hard object, almost biting his tongue off. Placing his hands on his cranium and with a tear rolling down his cheek, he looked up and noticed that Trunks had come to a dead stop. Rubbing the injury a few times, he could only think of one thing, ?Damn, that?s going to leave a mark.?
?Why are we stopping?? came the voice of the little green goblin from the back of the group.
Trunks seemed to ignore the question and kept his eyes glancing around the wide open plains. Everyone else just watched what appeared to be the leader of the group do his thing. Moving his head side to side, the lavender haired man pressed a button on his scouter. The small device beeped and booped. The sound of tiny winding gears screamed out as it booted up. A small bit of text scrolled across the screen, releasing information from the area around them, though it all proved worthless.
?Piece of crap.? spoke Trunks, disheartened as he clicked the off button.
For some reason he had thought that he could feel the presence of another just dead ahead, but then again, it was impossible with these collars. Thinking that it was perhaps a ghost felling, the halfling turned and smiled to the group.
?Alright, let?s move out.? commanded Trunks as he motioned for them to follow.
?Everything ok?? questioned Kami as he caught up to the Sayajin.
Trunks didn?t answer him, he felt like there was something out there, though he couldn?t tell what it was.
Suddenly, there was a crash from behind them, turning around, they found Android Thirteen laying face first on the ground and he didn?t seem to be moving. Moving quickly to their comrade, both Hellfighter and Trunks lifted the droid up off h is face and sat him down. Sweat was pour down his face, it looked as though he was beginning to dehydrate. Pulling a water bottle from Thirteen?s bag and unscrewing the top, Trunks handed the bottle to the humanoid, who grabbed it quickly and guzzled down half of it?s contents.
Feeling quickly returned to his hands and feet, and Thirteen finally stood up, feeling a bit refreshed, but still a bit tired. After thanking his comrades, the droid could feel his face burning with embarrassment. He couldn?t allow himself to look like a fool again, not around this group at least. How could they trust someone that couldn?t take care of himself? He would show them why he was worth keeping around if they got into a fight, that much Thirteen knew for sure.
?I just hope we can survive that long.? thought the droid as he pulled out a piece of bread and devoured it. ?It?s going to be a long week.?
