Personally, I think that most switches are honestly due to character apperence. Sure we can adjust them a bit, but some characters honestly just look more appealing to roleplay as, as opposed to others.
For one, I changed from a Namekian to a female, because I wanted to play as a woman.
Sure I could have been someone else, like Chi Chi or Fan Fan, but I honestly like the way that Pan looks. I could care less about power ups, hell, I'm only using Kaioken right now, so if that says anything, then yeah...
I guess my whole thing is that the "main characters" of the Dragonball series just have more effort put towards them to make them "look better"...that and it's personally harder for me to rp someone if I haven't seen them in the series itself.
