I know that there are many times that this is true, but...
With you guys being so deeply involved with the people doing the switches, many times you don't have a problem converting to who someone's new character is.
With staff, we have to constantly remember who everyone is, AND who they were beforehand, in order to take into account past actions. On the spot, which characters has Max been? If I said "Which characters have Slug been?" then how do you know as to which Slug I'm referring? Who has Kirano been? By Kirano I mean the one that we have set aside for a year, not the recent ones. What about Tom? Who has he been? Who has Will been? If I say "I remember Frieza kicking ass in that tournament," how long should it take me to sit down and have to research who was playing Frieza at the time if I simply don't care but a member wants to know? Its a constant change, and we already deal with it with people leaving and returning; this cannot be helped. But even when I see the post where people are asking to switch... I've asked them to mention who they currently are, and aside from 16 up there, most people don't. So after they are changed, I have no clue who they WERE. Its a complete identity change.
I guess words cannot convey just how freakin' irritating it gets, and we'll be viewed as nazi badguys, but that's just something I'm going to have to accept as well. We have to limit the amount of changes for sanity reasons, and we have to say no sometimes. There are obviously some exceptions to show when a case is good, but we have to make decisions on it. EVERYONE can't be the exception, but everyone believes that they are. We have to let them offer their case, and then we have to decide if its a good enough case to make that exception for.
