The Like/Hate thread (WoW)
So far that ".password" command hasn't done jack for me.

Any chance of 3.3.3 getting uploaded in the future? I'd like to actually give the Icecrown stuff a try sometime.

I went into the second wing last week for the first time. (Rotface, That other guy, and Professor Putricide). If you can get that uploaded, I definitely recommend going in there just to see the fights/bosses. They are easily the coolest in wrath. (Besides XT-Deconstructer and Yogg, of course.))

I'll look at why the password command isn't working.

And yeah, 3.3.3 is coming but as for when well... THIS SHIT IS FREE.

'The Blizzard Pet Store is offering two new virtual pets to World of Warcraft players today, one of which has generated over $2 million in sales in its first four hours.According to wow.com, the download queue as of 1:45 Pacific time was at 80,000. At $25 a pop, this means that this noble steed has generated sales of $2 million since its approximate debut at 9:30 this morning, or around $500,000 an hour. . '

25 Fucking dollars for a goddamn mount. I hate how, ever since Blizzard was purchased by that company they do nothing but ask for more money. Activision bought them and then what happened?

Race Changes! Faction Changes! Let's sell pets! All because of a company that wants nothing more then money. I understand money is important, but they are doing NOTHING but milking WoW. That's it. This is the exact reason I didn't want WoW to quit being pay to play, because they would have to resort to people paying extra money to get better stuff.

Edit: I can understand these other changes can be nice for some people, but it's retarded how much money they are making off their consumer. If Blizzard was doing this at least it would be THEIR product, and not that of some greedy ass company that puts EA games to shame.

/end rant.

You do understand that profit-seeking entities, by definition, only care about making money, right?

What you should be upset at isn't a company doing something silly like making money, but the fucking morons who are willing to pay twenty-five real dollars for a few strings of code.

Frankly, they deserve to have their money taken. Idiots.

I think it's kind of funny that the horse costs more than the base game.

The difference is that Blizzard wasn't like this until Activision bought them out. They stated they would never do any of this, because Blizzard was a company that refused to milk it's products. You can say what you want about pay to play games, but they didn't make you spend more then 15 dollars a month. They said there would never be faction changes, or race changes, but when they are bought out suddenly that changed.

I dislike the people who buy the products, but I HATE people who milk the product. It's not just WoW. That goes for Assassin Creed 2, Dante's Inferno, Dragon's Age, or basically, any product that within a week (some within 24 hours), have purchasable things that should have been included in the game at purchase.

I understand they are here to make money. But milking for money is different.

Damn, that's an expensive purchase.

Totally getting it, though. I play WoW enough that this would probably be worth it even if I wasn't getting a giant paycheck for all the work I did this week.

This is much better than just waiting till Halloween rolls around to try and get the Headless Horseman's mount; I've always wanted a flying steed for my DK. It just fit thematically.

I like microtransaction and DLC. It allows the developer to continue to devote resources to a game that is already released. The cost to develop and publish have gone up significantly in recent years so I don't really see it as a problem. They're making money where they know that they can because they publish a lot of games that lose money. If selling this mount lets them pick up games from 10 indie studios then more power to them. It's not like Blizzard isn't getting money from this either... they can use it to hire more staff, buy more servers or pay back investors.

I don't understand why you're mad about an OPTIONAL payment. It is an almost 100% cosmetic change.

Quote:they didn't make you spend more then 15 dollars a month

They still don't! optional ftw

I bought the jellyfish horse ("Jellysteed" as we call it on my server) right when it came out, before there were queues. Fucking, a one time fee for a riding AND flying mount on all my characters. Amazing. I don't care who thinks it's dumb, I ride my Jellysteed with pride bitches.

I got the lil' KT. It's the best $10 i ever spent.

But basically, its all about having the bigger epeen. Spend money = bigger peen. But whatever. I'll be happy with my one investment and actually earn my shit rather than buy my fancy stuff. I already pay fifteen bucks a month and half my soul to this damn game. WHAT MORE DO THEY WANT.

Funny how that works both in a game and real life. Money gets you so much these days.

I have the Lil KT as well. Not by choice.
