There is no difference between the playerbase. Sometimes you do get the more dickish types on Horde due to "I want someone badass and hardcore looking" testosterone types, but I've experienced those same arm flexers on Alliance as well. There is no "Alliance players just suck that's why they lose on all servers at the same things". Sucking does amount to alot, but to assume that EVERY Alliance group from EVERY battlegroup loses just because the Horde always have the more skilled players is just ludicrous.
Kibbles didn't say every alliance player sucked. They just in general suck more. Of course there are good and bad on every side, but I still think Alliance got jipped and have slightly more.

As for the rest, tl;dr.

Yeah, sorry if I wasn't clear... The AVERAGE player on Alliance is worse than the AVERAGE player on Horde. This is my experience. And it's not because of overpowering racials; yes, orcs can boost themselves up... Too bad they take half healing while doing it. It's certainly not free, and even though that penalty is reduced in PvP (where barely anyone heals anyway), it's still enough of a drawback that I, as an orc shaman, avoid clicking it unless I'm close to dying anyway.

Tauren war stomp is good in group situations... Not 1-1. You can interrupt a spell, and that's about it, because your character does nothing for the entire duration of the stomp's stun.

Undead are unbalanced. I'll give you that. Being able to pop out of a good deal of Crowd Control every few goddamn minutes as an innate ability is dumb.

Trolls berserking requires you to be at critical health to get full benefit from it. No thanks?

Belf... Meh. It's okay. I don't particularly like it, but I can see where a pally/rogue would find it useful in BGs.

But I'd just like to point out that EA pwnz, even in PvP. Mage Frost Nova'd you? EA and beat the shit out of him. Hunter trying to kite you? EA. Shaman Frost Shocking you into the ground? EA. Last time I checked, almost all snares could be shed with EA, and when I was playing my gnome warrior that made a Helluva difference.

As for dwarves, I'd play them for most classes. Cooler than hoomans... Admittedly their racial isn't hot, but it's not worthless either. It's about on par with human's Perception for usefulness.

Night Elves....bleh. SHADOWMELD. LOOKIT ME IMMA STEALTHIN'. IN MAH FLAG ROOM. WITH A SNARE. Not game breaking, just really freaking annoying when the enemy FR looks like it has two people, but it has 6 because the 4 goddamn NE's are stealthed. Where's a Flare when you need one?

Draenei are solid racially, not just for PvE but also for PvP. That heal is bloody nice; don't even know what it would be like to be covered by it, a Renew and PoM.

So yeah, I don't think the game is truly broken one way or the other. Undead have it better than most other races, but I don't think WotF is enough to win an entire game off of. Horde attracts, as you said Reijin, more of the dickhead types that like to flex their muscles and try to prove that they're the best... Well, yeah, they do. But even if they're dickheads, they still play harder.

If you think deadies are OPed now, you should have seen them in Alpha/Beta. WOTF was a passive, they could breathe underwater indefinitely, and they could also speak common.

Dude, I totally agree on EA. Right now, its widely observed that EA is the best racial out there for Alliance, and second total only to WotF.

Yeah, I heard the horror of WOTF from the olden days, and yeah, that would have pissed me off more. Probably a lot of why so many UD are running around. I think the Trolls got tremendously jipped as well. I mean, that ability is pretty useless. Its like they were trying to copy the Blaster from City of Heroes or something but didn't quite get there. It should increase your resistance as you get lower or something like that to sustain durability while down, but then the other racial, regeneration, goddamn heals you right back out of your fury and wastes it. They really need to fix that shit.

Also, back in Beta Undead were Undead, and thus could be targeted by Paladins' anti-undead spells. Paladins could own their way through an entire group of undead players.

Question for all you people who are like.. way higher in level than me:

Do people get smarter on the BG's as levels go by? In the 20-29 bracket, just seems like there's a lot of people who don't get the basic concept of CTF, and it irks me when I see me entire team at mid, and maybe one or two people going for the flag only to be owned.

On that too, on the BG's, it seems like Horde are just generally better at playing than alliance players, this makes me ..some what disappointed in the player population.

Horde win WSG and AB, Alliance win AV, its about even on EotS.

Get used to that. =D

One thing you have to realize with the lower level bgs... Lots of twinks that people made specifically for those brackets.

At level 60 there are still people that can't seem to understand the concept. =( Horde players, too, will ignore the flag carrier to continue fighting in the middle of the map.

They are trying to honor farm b/c they know everyone else just wants to play the game. Just like AV where instead of progressing the game, they all just sit and camp a choke point, and three hours later when noone has gone there, they still haven't left that point except maybe to go get soulshards in the mines or to mine some mats or something. Maybe fish.

It's annoying, too, because not only do they not get penalised for it, they usually make out with better honor (in WSG's case, anyway) compared to the others in their team who were doing all the actual flag-capping - y'know, winning the game.

I haven't gotten to the ultra high honor items yet, but it seems silly. For the sheer difficulty of getting them, marks seem to be more valuable than honor... Bleh.
Reply
Because they get the honor from everything the other guys did to win, plus their own farming. I've had people in AV and stuff flat out tell me "You want to get out of here, then win the game. Till then, I'm farming honor and then I'll just get the bonus points for winning. If we finally lose, who cares, I have more honor from farming than they do. Don't like it? QQ more nub" That was on a three hour AV game when about half of our team was just camping the bridge or afking at the cave. People did alot of griefing with the snowballs too, knocking you off the bridge and laughing when we lost, but when they nerfed the snowballs, it meant we couldn't boot afkers out of the portal either.

The Horde on your server must blow.

Either that or you're playing at 10-19 or 20-29 WSG where Alliance twinks far more than Horde (in my experience).

Edit: Sigh. The more I hear about AV, the less eager I am to play it. I thought a 40 v 40 match on a huge level, campaigning and boosting guards and such in a mini-war would be fun, but from the sound of it people just like to dick around and waste everyone's time.

Man, I am *not* looking forward to having to earn 20+ AV marks.

If you are Alliance you seem to have a really easy time gaining AV marks. I have 100 in my bank unused. For me, getting AB and WSG marks blow chunks, b/c I always run into a premade where most of the team is from the same guild on the same server and probably on vent.
