Well...as you guys have noticed, I've teetered on my opinion of this place. I share Vad's sentiment towards enjoying the writing, though, so I'm going to try to get active again.

I'm glad to see people talking about writing again. I'm optimistic.

I WILL WRITE SO HARD WITH OTHERS. It has become apparent to me that I need others to motivate me to stomp ass in writing.

I don't really need other people to write. What I do need, though, it a incentive that the time I take to write is worth it. When I write and the forum goes silent it makes me realize it's not worth my time, or headaches.

That being said if people do write I'd jump back in.

I'd be happy to do whatever. xD It'd have to be with my alt, but that's okay.

I dont write as much as I used to. Maybe I need to find someone to write with instead of writing solo like I always do. Only time I write with people is during sagas...

I miss sagas like the Construct.

Big Evil Guy. Overwhelmingly powerful. People gotta work together, and people can get offed.

People don't get excited about that kind of thing anymore, though, because... well, the rewards for sagas have been kind of meh; there's less incentive to expose your character to that kind of danger, and less incentive to stay active while inside. People just DROP OUT of sagas through inactivity at an alarming rate. And ironically, even though going inactive in a saga is supposed to be dangerous, people aren't really punished for it by death. So... that's one problem: a lack of incentive.

Second, although our current system is nice in that it gives players almost 100% control over how their character advances, in a way, I think it gives TOO much. I know EXACTLY how much XP I need to earn to get my next transformation tier. Although I can write it dramatically, it's not dramatic to ME. There's nothing unexpected - no sudden, AWESOME reward during the saga for doing well, just XP once it's done.

That bothers me.

Although I don't think we should go back to the old system of handing out Abilities like candy every saga, I think they should still be possible rewards. Transformations, no; we're pretty far advanced in transformations for our characters right now, so although I'd like to see them as rewards again, it's not going to have the same impact as, say, Reijin hitting SSJ3. Some of us would be maxed out on our transformations if we got the next stage awarded in the next saga. Not terribly exciting.

I also kinda miss when Power Ups took you to "a whole 'nother level" power wise. Not saying the previous numbers were perfect (x20? prob a bit much) but it was a Hella dramatic shift in the who's-who of power when someone unlocked their next tier.

Seeing, like, a third ability slot - a slot that can be filled by abilities you earn on Sagas - might give players more incentive to play.

I like the "third slot for saga rewarded abilities only" idea.

Vad Wrote:I like the "third slot for saga rewarded abilities only" idea.

What about if the reward was the ability to make a custom ability (Obviously it would need admin/mod approval).

But never the less....I like that idea...I honestly like the idea of a nice reward of somekind for actually being in a saga with such dire consequences. I say we try and get some kind of saga going period. I need some interaction Sad

And, of course, new people would be great, too.

The social dynamic here is pretty much incredibly static, shifted only by people leaving.

That's one of the things we wanted to do with Buffs.

The other thing that does along with adding that, though, is that we have to have events we can use this in. So... yeah.
