I hate when people try to mix religion and law, the two just don't go together.
Religion is law. Religion brings about law and so the two are inescapably linked. Religion is what sets us apart from Neanderthal.
Religion is too controversial. In some sense, law can be religion, but it depends on how you define law, and how you define religion. Though, religion is responsible for many advances in economic/social/moral fields, it is also repsonsible for set-backs. It would be impossible to know what life would have been liek without religion, because it has been molded in our society, and has always been apart of us, no matter what. If it wasn't here in the shape of Christianity/Buddhiasm/Hinduism/etc., it would be here in some other way. In for atheists(such as myself) we will partially believe in religion, becaus eit focuses around some higher power that is responsible for everything we do. I wish I did not believe in it at all, but it is human nature, which sets us back in so many ways, but we wouldn't be where we are without(you decide if that's good or bad).

When neanderthals, they had no sence of religion but realized that killing each other wasn't healthy.
Humans have a sence which tells them if something is healthy, or if it is right and wrong. All morals are not STRICTLY there from religion. That would be untrue.

Wars are created by difference. Many conflicts have expanded from religion, law, etc. Such as racism stemming from religion difference. People have been trying to divide lines in society and it has worked.
It is the husbands's decision. Fi-. Nal.

Actually, religion isn't the cause of all wars. It may cause some, but it's not the real reason. It's pride. Humans feeling that they are somehow better than another person is what causes all strifes.

I wouldn't really say pride...my bet would be on power. All of my anti-racist training has told me that power is the main cause of it, and after reading a synthesis on the history of racism, I would back that claim. I'm not saying that racism is the only cause for it, but it is a sibling to all of the otehr causes. Power, once achieved, may drive pride, but it would moreso drive your ego. But, mankind has just strived to be better, this can be shown through advancements in technology, and competitions. It is seen everywhere. People just want to be better.

Both religion and law are based on fundamental morals that a group of people deem acceptible.
Religion is religion and law is law. Are there similarities? Of course. However, its pointless to argue about it. I don't want to see more religious bickering going on on the boards.
Religious people are always going to argue for religion, and non-religious people are always going to argue against. (yes, that was a generalization, get over it)

Yea, I know it has been a little over 72 hours, but I didn't think I should start a new thread, tell me if I was wrong.
Terri Chivou died yesterday in the morning. After thirteen days without the feeding tube. Now the big controversy is that teh husband wants her to be cremated, and others think he is trying to cover it up.
