Wow, someone mentioned a Heroes of Might and Magic game. Hardcore. I've loved everyone of them in the series, and the newest (V) had better not be an exception. Technically, the series was supposed to be dead since the company went out of business, so hopefully we'll see another game in the regular Might and Magic series as well, and hopefully not in the style of MM9, which played more like Oblivion then a true MM game.

5 rules. A lot.

And listen to Broli, he knows what he's talking about.

Reijin, I think I love you. I've been playing Heroes since the first one was released. I think 2 is my favorite just because that was a phase of my life where a lot of my friends played as well, and we'd end up spending all hours of the night with the multiplayer.

And yeah, 5 rules.

Reijin and Raditzu are officially awesome.

I also like the mention of Septerra Core. I've been wanting to try that.

Get "Masters of Orion 2" if you can find it. The third one I hear horror stories about, and the first one was fairly good for its time in turn based strategy, but two is just the absolute pinnacle of creation and I love it. I want another copy since I lost access to mine (lending to friends ftw).

*has HOMM V, Master of Orion 2, and Septerra Core*

Hey! Don't I get a say in the Might and Magic love? Well, okay.. I've only played II, and III... but still. I have my memories... pretty funny ones too. We would multiplay and them secretely team, and then we would go beserk and stuff XD Anyway, I think out of II and III, I liked two better. Also, I had the expansion for II xD

Without a net connection, he can't play WoW or HL2, Jackie.

WoW, true but he can play HL2 without net connection. Infact, HL2 is one of the rare games where the singleplayer is by far better then the multiplayer.

Colonization, the original Doom, and Wolfenstein 3D.

Waw, those are some preety old games. Classics, but still... Big Grin

Colonization is great, I agree. Its too bad they never released a sequel.

Doom and Wolfenstein 3D on the other hand should really be played only if you really don`t have anything else to play. While they have casual fun in them, there are much better games around.

You don't know what you're talking about. There's no better fun than popping in Doom and zipping out the chainsaw.

BF2142 does have a single player "campaign", but if you're going to do that you might as well just get Company of Heroes, which I hear is much better in that department.

Actually, any BF singleplayer is for training pourposes only, not to mention the fact the AI can do some preety stupid mistakes. DO NOT get any of the BF games if you can only play singleplayer.

But surely a philosopher such as yourself realises that Doom has no special depth and as such is only ment to waste time with? Big Grin

That sucks that you can't even play WCIII, shit. If you have a ton of custom games saved up from previous net sprees, they'll keep you going for hours.
I might try that - I do have a shitload of maps. I can play it offline, just not the online gaming I was so addicted to. ='( Can't even thrash PD and Celipa at Metroid Prime Hunters. *sigh*

And I already have HL2, Jackie. =P My laptop can actually play it at home. Though, like I said, I'm going to see if it's possible to play offline at some point, because I'm sure there was an option to do so.

A good game for Xbox or PC is Fable, that game owns all. Can't wait for part two to come out, I know for sure I'm going to get a xbox360 just so I can play that game.

Fable: The Lost Chapters is a good game overall. But unfortunately, it is preety restricted on what course you can take, at least in the beggining. Spells are way too crude to be of primary use.

Aye, I played Single Player, but you usually have to connect to Steam to play. Hell, it might work if it doesn't detect the client as a game, but I have my doubts.

You have to connect to steam to validate your ownership of the game. It's actually retarded.

SB, *coughnon-steamversioncough*

It doesn't need to connect that way. I never had/never will have steam on my comp...except if I need to download Portal off the net using Steam...then I'll use it...once.

Also, since you own HL2 I suggest you get Half Life Source. Allthough it doesn`t change much of the original game (the only thing I really noticed is better graphics), it is still an incredible game.

Good non online game that I love.

Gary Grigsby's World at War
I'm not sure if you're into those kind of games, but I am.

If you like those kind of games, I suggest Strategic Command. It`s not very realistic but its fun. Even better are Hearts of Iron 2 and Europa Universalis 2.

If your also interested in non-strategic games, then I warmly suggest TOAW 3 and any game from the Combat Mission series (except the last one which is a FPS -.-).
