The Anita Black Chronicles by Laurell K. Hamilton are what I'm reading right now. The newer ones are not as good but the first seven kick all kinds of ass.

I have read all the way up to 'The Harlequin'. My girl has 'Blood Noir', so I'll get to read it next week.
After about 'Micah' it starts getting hit or miss. 'Laughing Corpse' is perhaps my favorite, that has the guy in the wheel chair and the voodoo priest right? ![]() Dante's Abyss 2007 Runner-Up

Mhm. That one's my fav of the series. I can't find Blood Noir anywhere. I've read the rest. Have you tried her Merry Gentry series yet?

I've read the first four of Merry Gentry. They have a very different tone, I like how that series is basically one huge arc. I can't wait to get my hand on 'Mistal's Kiss'.
I want a hand of power...Hell i just want to be Darkness. Where Anita Blake has sort of gone off track, (I'm really REALLY sick of Richard), Merry Gentry seems better thought out, like there might actually be an ending instead of where she keep churning out Anita Blake books that seem very close to clones of others. Though...she already has me hooked and I'll keep reading them until she stops. I couldn't find Blood Noir at Book-A-million I could only find it at Barns&Noble. ![]() Dante's Abyss 2007 Runner-Up

I have that on ebook and paperback. If I had your addy, I'd ship the book to you. I have already read it like, 3 times lol. Quote:I want a hand of power...Hell i just want to be Darkness. I like Andias's the best, though, although its a cross between Doyle and Frost of who I like better. I agree though, The AB series is getting a little stale now, but the Gentry one seems a hell of a lot more substantial. I got A lick of Frost and Mistral's kiss, btw, I could ship them both to you to read, if you want. ![]() Fuck you, Photobucket.

I dislike how Frost's is kind of an ass about the other men. Like Richard in Anita, I REALLY hate how he cannot see how things HAVE to be and just makes everything difficult. Though Frost has SOME redeeming qualities and is made badass because he is the incarnate of 'Jack Frost'.
I'll get it soon, though thanks for the offer. I like having the pages in front of me. I like the 'Hand of New Blood'. I really wish Essus was still alive, I would love to see his 'Hand of Flame.' Is there anything cooler then being the Prince of Flesh and Flame? He is such a cool character just by his reputation...I really hope Laurell does a flashback so we can actually see him. ![]() Dante's Abyss 2007 Runner-Up

Eh Frost is just jealous though. He wants all of Merry's attention, and can't stand to share. ![]() Fuck you, Photobucket.

I don't wanna spoil it, but you'll be looking for the Lick Of Frost book for that. You'd be surprised at how they come up with it. :x ![]() Fuck you, Photobucket.

"Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand and "Dune" by Frank Herbert both are high on my list.

As mentioned earlier, Notes from Underground is high up on my list, and it is by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Another good one is Roberston Davies's Fifth Business.

Crime and Punishment's one of my favorites.
Greg0rz (3:16:14 PM): if you cut Michael Moore, he would bleed cheese and bacon grease?
UltimoDemon (3:16:26 PM): I think that is very likely, yes. Greg0rz (3:16:34 PM): *scribbles down* Greg0rz (3:16:45 PM): do you mind if I quote you? UltimoDemon (3:16:49 PM): Not at all.

On the Road - By Jack Keroac, although the title might not exactly be totally right and the spelling of the last name might be off.

She does Nathaniel, Micah, Jason, um, I think she did Zane, too, not sure, there's a whole slew of em, but all of em are Lycanthropes, and toss in a few vamps for good measure. I don't envy that. -.- EDIT: And Rafael, Dominic (Whatever the swanmane's name is) ![]() Fuck you, Photobucket. |
