You could say it doesn't help people who are self-destructive, but then that's usually a byproduct of low self esteem, brought on by depression. The stuff I said was related to self-esteem, as well, and can be applied to social situations ie approaching people. In other words, if you raise your self esteem in other aspects of your life and make yourself happier as a whole, you're less likely to hate yourself.

Dunno if it'd work for everyone, but I consider it pretty truthful.
