Question: All
#1
Right, well, first off, wow. I've not actually seen a forum like this before with page long RP's that aren't broken down into single paragraph posts, I have to say its a change from normal, but some (if not all, I haven't read it all) of the story is fantastic.

What counts as activity? Because so far I've spent my entire time here reading through plots and posts. I admit I should probably be reading a book, however once I'm hooked on something, I'm hooked. (Case in point, Damn you Blizzard entertainment. And pretty soon Mythic.)

Am I required to get the character roster and vault stuff sorted right away, or can I float around for [Period of time here] until I'm in the flow of things? (Having read enough to satiate my desire to read any and all role play presented to me on this forum.)

----

In my head there was a lot of enthusiasm in the above post, however I'm such a sour, jaded bastard, for my age, that none got through. Just pretend that there is enthusiasm there, and that I'm not incapable of it. Oh, also, apologies for swearing.

Swearing is okay Big Grin Hell, we've all got filthy mouths.

Anyhoo, no rush on the character vault, just get it done when you're ready. In character activity is mostly consisting of busting out a 300 word (that's the minimum) roleplay every few weeks, its not a huge chunk to ask for, so I hope you have no problems with that.

We lounge, alot, more often than we should, but don't take that as an invitation to drop completely into inactivity.

And most of us take our writing seriously, seriously as in, we like to take our time, develop an enjoyable story, etc.

That was vague as fuck though, but I hope that answered your questions. ^^

Following post contains ramble. Ramble tags included for reader safety.

Woop! It'll probably take me a few days just to get to grips with the RP style, however I luuuuuuuuurve running away with threads on the style of forum I'm used to, so three hundred words will be a piece of cake.
[Ramble]
Where was I going with this?

I got distracted by Firefox underlining text with red lines. It underlined Firefox with a red line because of the spelling plug in I have. Oh right, it wanted me to capitalize.

If you can't tell already, there should be a block between thinking and typing in my brain thats distinctly absent. Thankfully unlike when I'm talking, I can delete stuff, 'ere. However instead of doing so, so I don't feel like I'm wasting my life by typing stuff that only I will ever read, because I've deleted it after my fingers stop, I opted for ramble tags.

Woohoo! I'm rambling. Kay, well, I'm quite obviously nervous. Chubbz is BIG. I feel like an out of towner that just walked into a major city with no idea where he is going.

OH! Yeah, I was gonna point out that I don't think three hundred words will be a problem for me, considering I write more than that every day over freaking MSN. >->

There's another question coming here somewhere, but as I've forgotten it, and my fingers lack the capacity to stop moving. Unless I hit a full stop.

[Five minute pause to test this theory.]

Ah hah! That was it.

[/Ramble]
Character vault, and Roster, I've tried looking at other people's stuff, and I've paroosed the information threads that I can find on what I should be doing here. Assuming I'm not just pants on head retarded , I canne find what I need to do.

For the character vault, just browse through other people's stuff in the CV, put whatever you want people to know about your character, history, best moves, etc. etc.

As for the roster, we'll take care of that. ^^

The first thing to do is set up your roster, which you'll need for training. All you have to do is set up your stats, which you can learn about here. You can begin training to boost your stats and earn zeni once you start role-playing. You can learn about training here.

Getting your roster is simple: make a post in the Updates forum with some basic information.

Quote:Personal Information (you do not have to include this if you don't want to)

Character Information
Species:
Planet:
Fighting Style: (aggressive, defensive, etcetera)

Stats (read the stat link above to learn how to distribute these)
Strength:
Constitution:
Agility:
Insight:
Technique:
Willpower:

As for Character Vault rules, read those here.

You guys are helpful.
This is alien to me.

I would give a serious reply entailing that I have read everything and am working on it. (I am, but I'd have been more specific)

If I wasn't currently splitting my sides about this:

Burter Wrote:Okay, shut up and give me the rank scale, fag.

Fine. Be that way!

Anyway I'm being pretty annoying, but I'm hyper actively nervous about getting this wrong, making a complete ass of myself, before I even start.

Bugger.

Err. Yeah, that link provided right there sends me to this.

Oh, that's right. Once you're a registered member you can't see the Joining forum anymore. My bad. You already set up your distribution at an even 100 a-piece right? Well, if you need the rules again, here they are:

Raditzu Wrote:With the introduction of custom character, players will no longer be able to join as the standard, canon DBZ characters.

Additionally, when joining, you must decide how you want your stats to be distributed. You will get 600 points to distribute however you want, but no stat can be higher than 150. It could look something like this:

Strength: 150
Constitution: 50
Agility: 150
Insight: 50
Technique: 50
Willpower: 150

You can start with whatever distribution you want.

Yeah, uh, Bar that's in the join forum, regular members can't see in there, I don't believe. <.<

This is what that post has, Druu.

Raditzu Wrote:
[The CDBZRPG Staff reserves the right to modify this post at any time]

We cannot stress enough: before you join, please read ALL of the rules in the Rules forum and various stickies very THOROUGHLY. It is recommended that you keep one window or tab open with your join post, and another with the rules required. One of the below posts has links that will be helpful to you.

Make sure you include all the necessary information for your join post. Try to keep it all in a single post. If you forget to put something in, please add it in, but try to get it all on your first try.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
  • We are a custom character-only RPG. We are DBZ themed, but we no longer accept canon characters, or characters from the DB/Z/GT universe. Custom characters are ones you create yourself, and should be unique and desirable to the individual.
  • We require a role-play sample to prove your quality of work. We are an RPG with a long-standing history and as such, have achieved a reputable level of said quality. Don’t take this as us being “too good” for your average Joe, because many of our members have come from lesser quality work and improved dramatically in their writing skills. We are more than willing to be patient and work with those who are still having trouble with role-playing.
  • We require respect from those attempting to join and those who become members, and if not that, at the very least give civility and decency. If you lose your patience, do not flame or harass. You’re entitled to your opinion, but please be mature enough to simply walk away if you become frustrated. In the end, this is only a game on an online forum for the enjoyment of those who write, and should be treated as such, not a personal vendetta.
  • Serious applicants only. We are more than willing to assist, but if you cannot be bothered to read through the information provided for you, it is a waste of time for both parties. Staff doesn’t tend to have patience towards those who ask questions that can be answered simply by doing some research. If there is something you honestly cannot find, we will clarify and correct the issue.
  • This forum is not for spamming or advertising. This is for people who would like to become active members of our community. If you commit said infractions, your links will be removed and your accounts will be banned. If you would like to affiliate with our RPG, please talk to a staff member.
REGARDING PLAGIARISM

We thank you for your interest in this RPG, but do not think you can take a shortcut and steal somebody else’s work. We’re a little more thorough than a simple glance, and do actually read the role-play samples you submit. If we find that you have simply copied and pasted other work from this RPG or another, your application will be denied and you will not be allowed to join. Plagiarism is highly, highly frowned upon. You should be here to demonstrate your own work! If you feel that your skills aren’t up to par, we’re more than willing to work with you, but give us the courtesy of being honest and forthcoming about it.

Also, do not submit something you have already written for another forum. Each entry must be new and unique.

BANNED MEMBERS

If you are banned, stop trying to get back in. You were banned for a reason. The behavior you displayed, the attitude you had, or the infractions you committed warranted a removal from this community. Constant harassment, lying, sneaking around, spamming, and any other such behavior is certainly not a demonstration that you should be readmitted, but in fact the opposite. By taking an immature and dishonest approach, you merely confirm, or add to, why we felt it was in the best interest for your banning. Again, this is only a game on an online forum for the enjoyment of those who write. Please accept our decision and move on with your life. You have consciously and willfully lost your privilege to be here, and as such, you are not welcome anymore.

HOW TO START

STEP ONE: you need to read the rules.

STEP TWO: you need to register an account. Please register in the name of the character you are choosing to be, so we do not assume you are a spammer or random registration. You cannot post without registering, and until you are approved, will not have full access to the site.

STEP THREE: create your character following our guidelines, and determine how you want your starting stats distributed.

STEP FOUR: take some time offline, preferably in Microsoft Word or something with spelling and grammar check, and create your role-play sample.

STEP FIVE:
put all of your information together and submit your join post. A staffer will respond in a timely manner. If your post is not replied to within 72 hours (3 days), you may bump your thread once per 72 hours. This should not be an issue, but if it becomes so, we apologize in advance.

STEP SIX: if you have any questions, concerns, or anything else that should be brought to our attention that cannot be answered in our rules or forum stickies, please let us know in your join post.

STEP SEVEN: if you are accepted, your account will be officially activated, and you can proceed to the Update forum to submit your character vault and roster. Welcome to Chubbs!

Thank you for your interest in Chubbs Dragonball Z Role-playing Game!

So now that I've actually been approved, I'm no longer allowed to view the joining form... unless I log out, and look at it... as a guest?..

*Tilts head*

Well thank you for the quotes, I'll work off them. Awesomesauce.

Now, I'm sure as sure can be that there is a description for what all of the attributes equate to somewhere, I'm going to rush off now and find that.

No one is that balanced to be 100 a piece, unless they're like... some kind of fictional character thats like... designed to be...

Ohwait.

Well, to hell with it! I'm going to go see if I can brake the 100train regardless. Lets go find that post.

Okay, I found it and forgot to hit post on this post, so now about half of what I've said is pointless.

To bolster the usefulness of my random shamble of words, I'm going to take a stab at the form you posted, and slap it in this post. That way (if its okay with you guys) you can point out the mistake that I will, or by some miracle of the aligned planets and God, do not make.

Fighting style is just essentially how your character fights, which can be a few short words, like the example I gave, or a few short sentences. How does your character fight? Does he rely on speed? Is he dirty and cheap? Things like that. Just make it short.

Personal Information
E-mail: W_W_C_N_D@hotmail.com ((Easy way to remember my email, is as a question; What would Chuck Norris do, at hotmail.com?))
ICQ: Negativo.
AIM: N/A

Character Information
Species: Half Sayian Half Human
Planet: Of birth: Vegeta. Of residence: Earth.
Fighting Style: Druu relies on well directed force and aggression. Druu uses his surprising resilience (for his size) to trick opponents into using risky strategy. Druu favors a well placed blow, over a high powered one.

Stats
Strength: 125
Constitution: 125
Agility: 100
Insight: 50
Technique: 100
Willpower: 100

Now, this leads me to my stats. I've tried to make his fighting style reflect his stats, as he was trained by battling with no previous training. The way I understand it, he would have a low insight because he has always managed to survive every trap he has fallen in to. He has a higher constitution because he gets beaten up a lot (Cause of falling in to traps) and he has higher than average strength because he's a half Saiyan and enjoys fighting, not to mention does it a lot.

Does this look the ticket?
