New Addition: Power Points

Nope.

Use it and then post an update.

Quote:Power ups will take a while, but if we can use PP for custom-techs I see a lot of potential traffic in the Updates forum. Being me I'm curious to your thought process as staff.

Yeah, there might be some increased traffic. It doesn't take much more than 5 seconds to update a roster and change one number. If the current staff can't handle making those updates, we'll look for people who can. I'm not worried about the potential "workload' increase.

We might add that at some point, but it isn't the biggest priority at the moment.

Rose Wrote:I've only got a few of issues/comments. Firstly, I don't like Regen giving 1 PP per week; I always envisioned it as an active rather than passive ability. The Namekians/Buu/Cell didn't heal over time, they did it in one burst by expending a bunch of energy. Regen's powerful enough as is (though, as you probably know, I preferred it when it was the only way to regrow lost limbs, and healing's advantage was that it was usable on yourself and others).

That's unfortunate. There's not much more I can say to address that, though. Sorry.

Quote:Secondly, I'm iffy about techs which drain/destroy the enemy's PP. I'd say lowering your enemy's PP should cost you a PP, too. That, or get rid of it altogether.

No one said they wouldn't cost the user PP. As I said, Customs that affect PP will be regulated more strictly than others. In some cases, that may mean adding a PP cost to a move someone would like.

Quote:Thirdly, a suggestion; I think you could go without having powerup masteries represented as an extra tech. I love the idea, but there's an even simpler (and IMO, better) way of doing it; simply represent powerup mastery by raising maximum PP. When Goku's PP is 10 as opposed to 5, he can use SSJ twice as often, so it's essentially the same thing. Not a big deal whichever way you do it, but I like the simplicity and fluidity of just raising PP.

Masteries aren't actually required for anything. If someone wanted, they could do as you suggest and only buy the Base Power-Ups and then sink the rest of their XP into increasing their PP. Personally, though, I like having the Mastery Power-Ups.

Would that be the only way Regen can restore PP? If so, I don't really see the problem.

Just saying there's a lot of conflict for the whole PP system. I like it lol.

On Chubbs, there's generally a lot of conflict over every system change. I don't see this as a bad thing, because people are generally willing to look beyond their own concepts and see it from the other's point of view. It's how the current system was made, and makes sure that the shit that *does* get out is quality.

Which totally means that we're on the right track, because Belle never outright agrees with anything. xD.

Yeah... What Belle said is largely true. I don't think there is ever a situation where we've notified members of an implementation that a large number of people didn't loudly protest it or take it to their own drawing boards in an attempt to recreate it into whatever image they may have used it on in their own previous RPG developments. The few times this hasn't happened, I think it was due to large amounts of salivation over how cool something was and we massively overlooked specific power imbalances due to already planning out how cool the abilities based on it would be. So this (sometimes) works out to be a good counterbalance.

In other words, getting overanalyzed for every single step we make can help just to make sure we cover a checklist of problematic material. Occasionally, we will agree that something is a problem, but we are in no way expected to answer and resolve every single problem that someone else might see (especially if its likely due to a misunderstanding of how it actually works) before launching it. When we do agree, it gives a bit more foundation to said complaint by having outside information that we may not have thought about ourselves.
