Custom Technique Approval
Ok go easy on me, I'm gonna try and wing this. Some of these will require stuff I haven't bought yet, but I wanna see if they'll fly and for how much.

Image Replication: Anikah taps into the icy elements to aid her. When using the Afterimage ability she creates an exact duplicate ice statue of her form as it was when she disappeared. This icy statue is made of solid ice, and can be shattered, but in the heat of battle it can confuse a person in hand-to-hand combat. She will typically follow the duplication by reappearing behind the target to attack them from behind. Other uses for this is by using it as a distraction to get away.

Ice Boxing: Anikah favors hand-to-hand combat, and has developed a way to use her Elemental poweress to encase her hands in jagged ice. Using the ice allows her hits to cause more damage upon impact. The ice is sharp and can cut flesh with each hit.

Kaden Wrote:Gauntlets of the Berserker - Does this increase Ares' speed or does it just allow him to attack at his max speed for as long as it's active?

Max speed. Links with the 'mindless thrashing' in that when it's activated he loses all sense of self preservation meaning he kicks everything he does up ten fold instead of concerning himself with saving himself for later.

Belle Hibiki Wrote:Gauntlets of the Warbringer sounds like it boosts his strength score. And ability boosts, correct me if I'm wrong now (rules might have changed), are a no-no.

Ares' techniques focus around accelerating specific aspects of his body to their utmost potential as quick as possible. With Warbringer the energy refocuses into his arms, creating a layer more suitable to physical combat. The wording in the description might be a bit misleading but I assure you your analysis is entirely inaccurate, good Samaritan.

Fisticuffs: The youthful warrior uses his ki specialization coupled with his superior martial arts skills to really deal punishment. Charging Ki into any extremity he feels like the youth can add a little extra punch to each physical attack he deals to an opponent. This energy can not be thrown, hurled or tossed towards an enemy, the attack must stay attached to his being or will phase out and evaporate so to speak.

Guardian sphere: The youth's own personal defense mechanism. From with in his very core a bubble of ki forms around himself and anyone who might be standing within just a few feet of the youth shielding them from any ki attack that is headed their way. Granted if fired from an extremely more powerful foe or the foe put everything into the blast the bubble will likely break however the damage dealt will be far less then what its potential was.

First time doing this, btw.

Phantom Machina: When immaterial, outside of his android body*, Tin Man can temporarily inhabit another mechanical vessel taking over its basic functions (Eg. If he enters a lawn mower, Tin Man can now operate the machine and its lawn-cutting functions from within). However, his ability statistics do not influence the machine's characteristics. Any significant damage done to his body of origin will call him back and the destruction of the inhabited machine will do the same. Another point worth noting: spending too long inside another vessel has adverse side effects. His intelligence slowly conforms to that of the machine-in-question, and eventually he would become one with the design; his spirit reduced to the mindless, soulless, churning of mechanical gears.

It doesn't take from the possession ability as he cannot influence sentient lifeforms; which means he cannot inhabit other androids or machines with near-human intellect, or built in 'sentience' (Eg. advanced A.I.s are off-limits).

Prerequisites: Immaterial, *Freier Geist, Shapechange, Android (Race)

Phantom Machina - Being new at this I'm going to say it doesn't sit well with me. Even though you're restricting what you can 'possess' I assume it would require, if not possession alone, a custom technique for possession. Also, the possession ability doesn't state whether it's restricted to sentient beings or not.

It would be no different than an advanced understanding/communication with computers, all of which is fairly natural for an android. And I thought it common sense (probably a bad assumption, i admit) that possession was intended to be used against creatures with sentient thought.

Also, the reason I put shapechange in the prereqs is because I could essentially turn into a machine I see and duplicate its basic functions, so I thought that fact would hold some weight...

As the only current active holder of Possession (I believe) I have understood it to be only used against sentient beings.

Would this be used as an attack mechanism, Tin Man?

Cool concept. I'm looking forward to seeing it in action.

Curious about this one. If it comes off blunt and to the point. That's exactly what i meant.

System Purge:

With the assistance of Beatrix and 4 PP, Vad can purge any negative effect, toxin, venom, or sapping effect being used on him.

IE: Venomous KI, PP Sapping Abilties, Ki Absorption.

Hum. Interesting.

I'm . . . I'm not too sure what to do about that, Vad. If I HAD to price it, it'd be high, so myself or yourself can post about it in the staff forum.

Eventhough it's not my place . . .

Vad's request shouldn't be that high. Seems like a situational technique.

The problem I'm seeing is that it negates other techniques entirely. I distinctly remember us discussing on the devforum about not having techniques negate other techniques when we were creating the list of techs.

Since the word purge was used, I'm guessing that it wouldn't negate, but rather vanquish it after the fact.

edit: im not gonna argue with you, since you're staff (and this isnt the place to do it anyway). Just had to get this last post in. Tongue

Nah, that should be really high. It completely negates Ki Absorption, Venomous Ki, and anything else that would effect Vad in a long standing order. It's very blanket and encompasses pretty much everything that isn't instant.

Sounds liek it would suck balls to be caught on the wrong end of that...

It's currently being discussed in the Staff Forum guys. ^_^ Thanks for the input though.
