I've written this several times Sage, I'm not mad about changes. If they had been done back when we asked for them instead of just getting 'no, never, fuck off' then I'd have thought them excellent.

I dislike the extreme tease tactic though, they pulled the line until the very end, took up some tape and added some extra, making the extra piece of line hanging a bit loosely.

Overall, no, I'm not retarded. Changes are fine, I'm just not cool with the fact that changes they said would never be there weren't just implemented when we asked for them instead of like this. If game development hadn't taken notice of it, they would still be the leading MMORPG if they had implemented that sooner, hell, they might even had a bigger sprout, making more customers and getting more money.

I know they want money. I've bought a total of 8 games, I'm well aware of what they want in regards to money and it sure also have cost me some, but even from the business angle they could have made it become such a bigger success sooner if they had just implemented the changes when they were asked for instead of waiting years before implementing them.

Now pardon, any chance you could not call me a retard next time?

I hate what the game has become. I enjoyed throwing my life away for 40 man raids.

This new development with the faction change is heading toward Star Wars Galaxies. That game was ruined forever by SOE.

I am forever a tank...that is all.

That's not what it was, though. The design principal, when it was initially asked for, was to not let people change faction. When a new staff comes in, those principals change. It happens in game companies all the time. In the case of WoW, the change was more extreme than most, though. The new people don't see a problem with people changing factions, so they'll implement a system to facilitate that.

Y'know it's possible that they said 'never' because of technical limitations that no longer apply.

I believe that was one of the reasons they never did put with 'never'. Could of course be an unwritten reason, although it's hard to relate with those in a discussion like this.

I understand that people have been exchanged and of course that means new things are coming in, I just wish the new things were something original instead of something suggested ages ago, got denied (permanently) and then suddenly brought back.

Just keep in mind, they've publicly stated a while back that they've taken the stance of feeling that they need to use lawyer speak and say things like "There are no plans to do this at this time" and "It is unlikely that we will ever do this in the future" due to saying things like "won't happen" and then after staff changes or new technology surfaces deciding otherwise. Remember, Chubbs would "never" allow customs for what we felt were good reasons. Now we feel otherwise. Ebb and flow.

EDIT: Btw, the character I pvp with usually is my Feral Druid, but I can't cheat the pvp gear since I don't raid on it and am not a bursting machine. I want to go resto, but that DOES want resil (or raid heavy gear for spellpower) so I have to regear completely to play resto with friends. So I just don't feel like the grind before I can start having fun.

I still feel there's a huge difference between Chubbs and Blizzard, although I do want to know who'd be Ghostcrawler in Chubbs then. Regardless, this seems to have been outdiscussed.

And sadly yeah, no cheating PvP grind without goind PvE-allstarwhore.

My friend keeps trying to get me to let him just afk bot my druid through AV like he does so that I can avoid the grind and actually play with them again so that they don't have to level a druid and then gear it up themselves.

Let's completely ignore the moral question of "is botting a necessary evil or never justified" since that goes in circles and instead we skip to this point: If I have have to have something else autopilot me for 40 hours or more to earn the imaginary points by standing still just so that I can then buy STARTER level pvp gear that is a massive damage decrease from level 80 GREENS and yet only enough resil to make the most minor differences (but enough of a difference to keep you from getting the rating requirements to get actual decent low rank gear to begin going up the chain), then I feel there is something wrong there. I strongly feel that the intro level pvp gear should be purchasable (similar to where they later made BC pvp gear purchasable with rep) for at least the worst ranking pvp gear. To be expected to either spend a full month scraping together starter scraps or to rush into the arena in full 80 greens and thus stay so low ranking that you still take a month for one piece of gear is absurd.

Are you talking doing Arena or BGs? Arena, the starter set will make a noticeable difference if you're taking it seriously, but BGs, 90% on my battlegroup at least I have no problem surviving against 2 or 3 guys long enough to be rescued or escape unless there's a ret pally, at such time I can only hand the one and a poorly geared noob for more than 30 seconds.

I agree. MMORPGs are all bound to be grindy at some point, but PvP grinding was what got me into onto the 'brink of suicide' and therefore got me botting and permanently banned (wrong length on the ban but else I got what was coming to me).

But I do think the reasoning behind banning botting should be changed. I got the reason that I was ruining other people's gameplay, truth was that damn bot was more of a help in AV than I -ever- was.

Also I suggest just PvEing, despite you hate it. In TBC and stuff, I had to give over to PvE because late-TBC even 1 piece of PvE was like 2x as a PvP item, even with res.

The only thing I'm skeptical about is the balance of battlegroups. Some battlegroups are renowned for being Alliance or Horde dominated and knowing that do you think people would switch to the opposing faction that usually wins?

What's going to happen? AoS will become ally dominated instead of horde dominated, for example. All the people thinking "grass is greener" are going to switch to the dominant faction to "get away from the noobs and be with the side that ALWAYS WINS". In response, that side is going to say "Fuck this bs" and swap sides to get away from the sudden surge of raging idiots, walking right into more. Because people are absolutely convinced that one faction or the other is somehow "proven" to be better or more mature or skilled than the other.

They just can't agree which faction that one faction is.

Weird.

Like Ashe explained, most likely it'll just be a little uneven on one side because the people would just continously balance it. I can imagine some sort of restriction coming on one of the sides if people mass-transfer. Just like WAR has.

It's some bullshit. People should just start a friggin toon on the opposite faction if they wanted it so badly. With all the changes, its getting easier and easier to level up.

Eh, I love it. Not motivated enough to level a second whatever class and spend the 18-22 days of played time just so I can occasionally play with friends on Horde side. Less boring bs ftw.

So now that it's live, has it changed your lives as much as you thought it would?

I'm thinking of changing my Troll hunter to a dwarf or Draenei.

Should I feel ashamed?

Beard or tits n' tail, I see neither wrong with that.

Unless you're going male draenei. They look like they shat themselves when they move.
