Strategy Defense 5. The best in the series. The older games simply don't compare to this one. The game is a campaign, with each battle being between three castles on either side (3 for you, 3 for computer).
You take turns attacking: first you train attackers using your cash, and the computer builds defense towers with theirs. Attackers trained at Castle 1 will head to the enemy's Castle 1, Castle 2 to enemy Castle 2, etc. Defense towers are placed in the wooded area on the defender's side of the field, which the attackers have to run through to reach the target castle.
There is a 10% chance that your units will be trained as a "white" and 10% chance the enemy units will be "black", meaning that they're faster and stronger. You can make more units by training weaker attackers, thus getting a better chance to have more super units, or buy the more expensive units which are more reliable, or a middle-cost unit that is okay but not too expensive. Additionally, every round you and the computer get to use a "special" ability, which attacks all enemy attackers on the field for moderate damage.
There are environments to deal with, such as water blocking the path of ground-based soldiers from being trained at a particular castle. The castles become progressively stronger, making them more difficult to destroy. The strategy is actually pretty fun for such a simple game.
