Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

Thank you, Vad.

That was both relevant and helpful.

EDIT: Wrong phrase.

I agree with Kaden.

I know Kaden has a hardon for Paladins (damn you Cecil!) but I agree with Kaden. If you hate having pets, then a Warlock seems like a bad choice. Plus, Paladins get to hold giant swords/hammers/polearms, which look WAY cooler than wands or whatever.

Kinda sucks that Warlocks and Paladin compete for the same exact swords (depending on Pally spec).

I am curious to know what combinations of class and race would you consider to be "wrong" according to the general WoW community?

By roleplay standards, anything can work really.

If you are looking for min/max viability, its a totally different look at it.

Pretty much Troll ANYTHING is going to be inferior to any other race choice for both PVE and PVP. They are mostly picked for "coolness" and "looks", which is why RP standards would apply there.

Otherwise, it entirely depends on the role you wish to play, PVE or PVP, as well as the role IN those situations (arena dps, arena healer, raid tank, etc).

So you wouldn't say being a Gnome Warrior would be wrong?

So guys (Metal Teemer and Kaden), I hear you're coming over to play some WoW at some point. Any idea on what you will be playing? If we do play, I def want to play a human mage if we make new characters since I have trouble soloing a mage. Either that or I'll get Waff to come help me atleast get to 20 on a RAF account.

I'm mostly thinking of trying stuff we haven't done before, like me as a healer, or just specs that people think are "wrong".

Yeah I know what you mean. I would even try leveling as arcane just for kicks.

Gnomes are fine for Warriors. And common. They have extra dodge chance (as do Nelfs, I believe).

On the race question, I've always been of the opinion that it matters jack diddly. Sure, there are advantages to rolling, say, Orc (a trinket effect every two minutes, free expertise with axes/fists), but it's never been a deal breaker, and I would never say that someone "sucks" because they're one race or another. This isn't FFXI, after all.

Just pick what you like looking at, or whoever's animations you think are cooler.

I guess they're tricky getting used to, but they're sooo epic.

Yeah, don't get too confused. It had absolutely nothing to do with WoW, which... was kinda the point.

Interestingly, a blog that updated today made this casual comment in their discussion of professions.

"Especially when you're coming up in the ranks as a new character, there are other stats that are even more important. For example, Hit Rating is frequently regarded as a must have stat. If you're not at the appropriate hit cap for your class, you can never achieve your maximum damage. "

I liked Akatsuki back when I played. They enjoyed my penis talks during crucial raid boss fights.

I hate how Akatsuki disbanded and broke my heart. =(

Some of them are playing on AoS ally side again and keep asking me to play. But my focus is elsewhere right now.
