Link fail, Soph.

Everything else looks... hilariously awesome. I like him. As different from Sophia as Juno and Jezebel are, haha, which, I suppose is the point.

I went the route that most people seem to be leaning towards so far in that I'm using one of my NPCs, this one coming from something I've been working on for after KT.

As for the link, that's odd. o.O It works for me. I guess I'll fetch another at some point.

It'd be fun to rp as someone other than Orion, but I doubt I'd do it consistently. It would be too much of a distraction.

Same opinion as Orion.

Does honesty earn respect or inspire revenge? Is it smarter to attack the strong or annihilate the weak?

Quote:Name: Roy Jackson
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Age: 42
Zeni: 1000
XP: 10.00

Inventory:
• A small arsenal concealed within a GI military duffel bag

Occupation: Self-proclaimed Ass-Kicker for Hire aka Mercenary
Combat Ability: 500
Appearance: Duke Nukem

Personality: Once upon a time a bold news reporter dared to ask Roy Jackson about himself – and had the courage, or the stupidity, to stick around for an answer. The professional ass-kicker slowly removed his shades and stared the man straight in the face, and then he said, “Roy Jackson is the fucking man.” The journalist nearly had a heart attack.

And yes, he did refer to himself in the third person. He does that from time to time. But that’s Roy, that’s just how he goes about his business – like a boss.

Jackson is a tough, stubborn son-of-a-bitch that just oozes arrogance. But his arrogance does not come undeserved; in his heyday he was one hell of a soldier. Although he cannot recall exactly why he was discharged (truthfully he was not really paying attention), but it had something to do with a serious excess of collateral damage. If you chanced upon this topic in conversation, and perhaps he was a little bit intoxicated, he would tell you that “collateral damage is for pussies, I got the god damned job done.”

Roy is an admitted alcoholic, but he believes this to be more of an achievement than a problem. He enjoys cigars, car chases and good old fashioned fire fight.

Abilities:
• Regeneration
• Survival

Techniques:
• None

An interesting idea and I'm somewhat close to completely ripping off a LoL character to attempt to roleplay as him, but seeing as you use the same template as the standard CDBZ, how do we calculate CA or get custom techs?

I can handle the CA part if you'd like.

That's great, but asking someone to do XP is inhumane seeing as it's one single massive thread.

XP is being awarded on a quest-by-quest basis, either by word count or quality (it hasn't been decided yet). Vad could, concievably, just put everything into a formula.

As for techs/etc, I suppose you can use this thread when you want to buy techs, and for custom techs, I guess you can post them here, as well and we could just collectively discuss/price them. If collective discussion gets too... well, as collective discussions often get, I'll just go ahead and run it, or get someone too. If this thread starts to get cluttered, I'll start a new one, but for the moment, I'd like to keep it as condensed as possible.

EDIT: In the meantime, I might be writing. Someone lemme know if they're writing something and I'll stop.

I dunno. Are stats for something completely recreational really necessary? I can hardly tolerate them in the actual game.

I think this should be freeform

I agree.

@Juno: All the forumla's exist. It's hardly work. I'd need to create an excel spreadsheet, but that's about it.

If you guys are alright with freeform, that's definitely alright with me.

We'd still need to pick abilities, obviously, and we can figure out something to help us get techs and items, but if you guys want to nix CA and XP and zeni, I'm perfectly okay with that. =D Less work, haha.

If need be, we could use the stat percentages and just stick with those should anyone fight. As for techs...dunno.

I'm game for nixing, because then Captain Teemo didn't need to get 50 xp first before being awesome. I still believe the custom techs should be noted up though, but we lack a way to track them for battles and the like. Any chance a mod can just add Juno to be able to edit the first post and he can have all the profiles there?

That's a novel idea.

As for techs, I'm thinking that it would be pretty easy to get an impartial reader to judge the top, say, three posters, and allow them to purchase a Cheap, Decent, or Expensive Tech (excluding Kaioken and Genki Dama) based on what they ranked.

EDIT: Regular members are definitely free to edit their own posts in the OOC forums. See: mine, Sophia's, and Alex's profiles are already edited in up there.

I meant indefinitely. I believe there's a time limit in the IC forums but also a longer one in the OOC forums. Just in case this ASS (uh..) would grow.

AAS, unfortunately. I'm not that much of a ripoff. Smile

And there's no time limit in the IC forums. You can't edit at all.

here's a crazy idea!

What if enough people liked this idea, maybe we could get a forum to be able to post in and edit without worrying about OOC edit limits and such.

i dunno how hard that would be, but it would cause less clutter than doing it in the graphics/art forum.
