I played a character to 25 in Warhammer because my Age of Conan guild moved to it. I agree with Waff. Open PVP has a purpose. Taking Keeps and holding them in zones to purchase PvP gear.

Doesn't help the fact that PvP in Warhammer is messy as fuck. It's impossible to have a clear overview of the battle without a voice directing you in your head and more than not all fights turns into zerging. That said I haven't been in a proper siege battle, but mostly because the rest of the game is so boring I honestly couldn't be arsed.

About the only thing that bottlenecks me on that game is my fucking ISP. But supposedly they are going to be increasing the speed by a lot soon by upgrading their lines, so here's hoping.

Warhammer was an incredibly shitty game.

Aside from its clunky controls/interface, PvP was basically zerging undefended keeps 90% of the time because Defenders got jack all for participating. In fact, it was beneficial for them to allow keeps to be capped so that they could cap back for large renown gains later.

Also, world PvP always sounds like a super awesome idea until you actually try to do it. Population imbalances fuck everything up. What keep sieges should have been was a regular, instanced battleground with a high population cap. Shit, WoW figured this out ages ago and essentially made Wintergrasp a 100v100 battleground that you played every couple of hours. Imagine what it would have been like for Warhammer if they had done the same.

On WoW: Fuck my guild and fuck their inability to down Blood Princes what the fuck this isn't hard.

It's not a wow-heroes GS, but basically, its mostly ToGC gear (most of your stuff is 245+, although you can probably get a couple 232s in). MIne's just over 2500 according to wow-heroes, and i've been in icc 25 normal and did mostly fine up until Saurfang. Although our failure was a collective result of people just being asshats, not so much lack of gearscore. I know i was busting out around 4-6k dps up there. And the trash, if you've got a good tank and heals, is pretty simple. I was doing fine at around 2400 gs.
