ps3 vs xbox 360

Mine froze once, and that's because I left it on for four days straight. It's never been a big deal. As for overheating, the only time I've ever heard about one overheating were the very first models which didn't have good enough fans. The xbox 360 had the same thing.

I believe the xbox 360 has better online play, but I believe the ps3 is by far a more solid built system. It's opinion, but I've never had to go through another one, and I've met very few people who had to get a second one. While I know people who are on their third, fourth, or even fifth Xbox 360.

If xbox 360 messes up alot, scratches disks easily and whatnot i probably will go with the ps3. i really don't want to go thru the hassle of sending it in or fixing it myself, thats just a pain.

Reminds me of the time my original ps2's cd holder thing got stuck in my ps2, and no matter how many times you hit the button for it to come out it wouldn't. good old butter knife, and pliers did the job though!

As an owner of both the Ps3 and 360, I'd say get the Ps3. Ps3's are a lot more reliable. Also, with Ps3's you don't have to pay to go online and their wireless control pads don't require AA batteries.

I'd suggest PS3 as well. With a nice HD setup, Blu-rays are definitely fucking sweet looking. And they're not THAT expensive, provided you either get them during the first week they're out (fuck yes for Target sales) or wait for the price to drop. I haven't paid more than $20 for a blu-ray yet, and $20 is usually for a Blu/Dvd combo that I split with my brother.

You guys talk about the xbox breaking down as if it should be acceptable. I've had my ps3 for what, I think nearly three years now, and I've never had any problems with it. A system shouldn't ever break down as easily as a xbox does, and even if it's lower now, it's not acceptable in my opinion.

That's exactly my opinion about the 360. Unfortunately, the 360 is kind of like WoW. Tons of people use it, so everyone puts up with failures simply because... tons of people use it. I've had one 360 RROD on me, and after I got it replaced, I've had the new one ring two of my games.

Really, I'm only going to "recommend" the PS3 on principal. Telling someone to buy a 360 just feels like I'm telling them to be ok with that hardware. However, I get plenty of use out of both the consoles and the determining factor should always be which has games you'll enjoy more.

EDIT: Oh! And XBL being "better" is a load. I've at least tried the online of any of my games that actually have it on PSN and never once ran into any noticeable lag or other network issues that detracted from the game experience in-and-of themselves. If XBL is a determining factor because your friends use it, cool, but don't buy into that nonsense about it being a "better service."

That really depends on the game, not xbox live. The big games have dedicated servers, but some, like the Magic the Gathering XBLA game didn't have that functionality until recent patches. If the host ragequit, the game was over.
