Turning CA back on

[Belle Hibiki]

Meh. All those have been competitions (to varying degrees). Invasion seems more against NPCs (some really powerful).

I'm curious to see how newbies contribute.

[Sigfried Hunin]

I INTEND TO KICK ASS.

PS: I don't care about the CA being up or down particularly right now. I think everybody has a rough idea of how powerful they want their characters to be and USUALLY aren't fuckwit assholes about it.

I totally did this post on purpose and have a full grasp on the downfalls of this site after a year or more.

[Dehan]

Voted don't care though I'm wondering why it was turned off if it was going to be cut on shortly after.

[Kaden]

Because we had no idea it would have this effect. I genuinely believed that more people would prefer if there were no "measuring stick," so to speak. The only was I could have been more wrong was if... uh... not sure.

You make it sound like the plan was to have it off for a couple weeks and then just turn it back on. That would be a... bad plan.

[Dehan]

Was trying to post earlier but server was busy.

I was curious, I didn't think it would be cut back on until something else/different would be put into effect.

[Jonathan Meer]

Considering the activity and discussions it spawned, turning off CA was one of the better things to have happened in the history of Chubbs.

For now. I do want it back.

[Sigfried Hunin]

Yeah, you gotta piss people off to make em discuss things. It's just a fact.

I just realised, holy shit, Victoria's CA is 10,000. That's like 20 times the starting CA. That's monstrous.

I mean, not to belabor the point about diminishing returns, but I'm glad the current system is on its way out >_>;;

[Victoria]

I worked hard for my PL =P.

As a general rule of thumb, people choose to write because they want to be rewarded in some way. Whether that be by gaining something material in exchange for their hard work and time consumption, or simply a pat on the back and recognition as a great writer from fellow members.

The former is obviously more preferable, as it makes the writer feel more accomplished.
