"Each day phase lasts 24 hours. After 24 hours have passed, I tally up the lynch votes and if there's a majority, that person dies."

Until we hear otherwise, the meaning of majority still means more than half. Since not more than half voted to lynch Doe...I feel like there's a dead horse being beaten somewhere.

Anyway, I've just been saying as a townsperson partially to annoy Kaden (teehee). However, it really did get me to thinking. What if Kaden is a special Mafia role, like a corrupt sheriff or something, that has to say "I am not mafia" every time he posts. Similar to in some versions of the game where teen wolf must say "werewolf" all the time.

Yes, but I believe Rose basically said no-lynch is the same as not voting, at all. So a no-votes majority isn't a majority vote, in that sense.

Don't you think he just means a majority of votes on a single person? If no lynch votes mean essentially "telling yo guys I is not voting" and since there was no other person outvoting JD, he got lynched? >_>

We really just need Rose to answer Kaden's question that he posed 8 hours ago regarding this. Until we know for sure what "majority" means in this game, we shouldn't really be doing anything.

Yes, I would hope so. It is a basic part of the game. It's not about roles, or who has what powers. It's about what our votes get us. Without a clear definition of "majority", we don't actually know if our votes count. Is majority based on the total number of players? Is majority based on the total number of voting players? Does majority mean more votes than anyone else? Does majority mean more than half of the players that voted?

As a major part of the basic game, it's very important that we understand it.

I think there's no special role, as Rose said voting for not lynch is the same as not voting. I basically think majority rules.

Majority means 'more than half'. A majority vote is required to lynch. Although yesterday, there was no majority and someone got lynched. I mean I guess it's fishy, but the Godfather is dead, who cares how it happened right?

I'm not sure pressuring Rem is gonna work, mainly because you pretty much said that was all you were doing. There's no threat if he knows it's a bluff.

This game is so tough... there really is no right answer to how to play the game, or how to respond to accusations. Basically, you just have to hope that people believe you. Like myself, I'm having trouble believing Sig right now. It is pretty coincidential that he just so happened to investigate the guy who was killed. Not only that, but he said he was the sheriff on day 1 and even if he wasn't the real sheriff wouldn't say anything so early in the game. Hell, the sheriff might just think he/she was the insane sheriff.

And really, what can Sig say in defense to this? Nothing that could prove his innocence. Atleast not until he can point the finger at a mafia member.

Shit was stirred up. Still nothing resembling solid kernels, but it'll be worth referencing.

Whatever the merits of Mario's argument, we're never going to get all of those lynch-votes retracted. We're just going to have to see what happens.

(I should point out that every time I play this game, I'm usually voted off pretty early. I like to be dominant/talkative in it, which leads to suspicion, which leads to being voted off. Not unlike the effects of ostracism in Athenian democracy, I suppose).

As a side-note, putting this tentatively, we should remember that it isn't simply the mafia who have things to keep secret. We're at least four or so day phases from safety for the power roles to open up. Dodginess may mean Mafia, or it may mean an informed sheriff who cannot safely and openly disclose his/her information.

And then there's sig, who I think is probably just being a doof.

EDIT: Which is to say, we need to keep an eye on him, but we especially need to be cautious before lynching him.
