Shen, Nocturne, Ashe, and defensive play are all counters to TF. Maybe Pantheon would be too, if he were good.

TF is one of those champions who does a lot for the team when they're already ahead, but isn't really impactful if his team is already losing. As a champion, he's intentionally weaker than others that fill the same role because of his global TP. That means that he has to get more gold to be able to really do anything.

It looked like one of them might like to jungle Amumu. That's the best we could come up with.

TheSummonist looks like he plays Amumu mostly, though he just played Ashe in a ranked game (probably because he couldn't get Amumu). I have seen him play mostly jungle though, Amumu and Trundle.

The rest are pretty much all over the place.

I'm going to start and end this post by saying the same thing: I am talking in generalities, not to one specific person, so no one should assume I am referencing just them.

If you're asked who you want to play, have an answer. "I don't care" or "It doesn't matter to me" are not acceptable. The point of doing this is to improve in a competitive environment. Everyone is expected to fulfill their role by playing a champion they feel they can play competitively.

When it comes my turn to pick a ranged carry, and someone asks me who I want to play, my answer will be "Corki/Ashe, Cait, or Vayne" in that order. If I were asked to jungle, it would be Yi, Udyr, Nunu, or Xin, also in that order. Mage? Malzahar, Annie, Brand, or TF. If I asked Tryg who he would jungle, I know I would hear back some variation on "Noct, pirate, or Trundle." That's honestly what I expect.

So give it some thought. Consider who you play well and who you think are your strongest champions for a competitive match. If you're not sure, run some matches. Or, better yet, ask us to get some Ranked 5s so you can practice some champs.

In regards to having a limited selection of champions, I absolutely don't expect everyone to be able to play all champs equally well. Hell, I don't even expect anyone to be able to play all champs of a give archetype equally well. I'm pretty confident in my ability to play Corki, for example, but I'm a bad Sivir and, at best, a mediocre Ez. Don't worry about having champions that fit a specific team comp. If we have an AoE team, but you're not comfortable with any champs that you feel fit that comp, don't worry about it, just play what you're best at. That was a lesson learned from our Round 2 match.

And that's the end of that part of my post. I was talking in generalities, not to one specific person, so no one should assume I was referencing just them.

Now to the specifics. Round 2 was a massive failing on my part. While there were issues with the game as a whole, none of it would have happened had I been doing my job in the first place and I apologize for that. It was a wholly unpleasant experience for everyone involved and detrimental to our standings in the league. I think some beneficial things can come from it, though.

Schedules from people, written down and posted here, would be immensely helpful. I foolishly underestimated the difficulty in finding a time where 10 different people (EDIT: because 10 of the same people would be easier? *shakes head*) can be open for an hour or more. Here's an example of what would be awesome:

Listed are the times that someone can play for the week of Round 3. I understand that things come up, or people might not know their schedule or any number of other things. I also am not going to take this as set in stone. Just being able to have a record of what should work would be really helpful for trying to get games scheduled. This way I can also let people know who I expect to be in a given match.

As you can see on the schedule posted in the "Two-Part Trilogy" thread, the next two rounds are bye weeks for us.

After that game, I believe I should have done top as Brand or Malzahar, in that order. Yes, that would have left us without a tank. That's fine. The Euro meta evolved a similar comp of 2 AP, Ranged AD Carry, Jungle, Support specifically to counter a Bruiser meta. Trundle would have been enough tankiness with a Taric to keep us in there. Brand or Malz, both of which I feel quite comfortable playing, have the ability to counter push the top lane, both farming very well while keeping safe, both with % abilities to deal with the tanky characters while both are able to offer some cc as well. I think Brand would have been better due to the nature of his passive but Malz is a lot more mobile. I definitely think that choosing one of those two would have been far more beneficial that looking for a tank out of a list of those I was not very comfortable with to also counter a pushy Mordekaiser. Even Cho'gath would have been in a rough spot due to the lack of burst and heavy mana use to keep Morde off his tower, who would have had no reason to fear harassment.

I absolutely think I should have gone with one of those two.
