I was going to include Burter's FoFII clock where there's a certain amount of time to post a set number of posts, thought it would be the best way to handle that specific part.

I think it would be far better to do as an IC thing if we're using the characters. Just say that the tournament takes place all on one day, and have you go on doing your own thing after whilst OOC we're still writing the events of the tournament. That way it wouldn't disrupt your other IC stuff whilst it still 'would have happened' IC.

What I mean is this.

Everyone gets their characters to the registration by the 31st, tournament is said to take place on the 1st of January. After that, the characters can go off and participate in sagas whilst the tournament is still being 'written up'.

Alternately it could just take place over a week or so as a mini-saga, with each match taking a day. The first rounds would all be on the first day, and you would just have to make a post to help your team along. From each match one team would be eliminated until the finals.

Example:
Day 3: CU vs Rag, XT vs Demod Squad.
Day 4: Winner vs Winner

It's easy to do IC, one way or the other.

Yes but if it's still being written, while we RP doing other stuff, IC we can't RP what had happened after it ended although it really didn't end yet, if that makes sense.

Games would take more along the lines of four days instead of one... I would like it if everyone participated and it wasn't just two people Rping the whole time.

Now that I think of it, IC would sound good if each team had a representative sign up for the five people then the games could begin sometime mid January.

I want this to be a mini-saga. But I'd also like this board to stay till the end of the tournament to hammer out team details, after that then delete away.

That would work, then all of the participants just get ported in on the day free from CC...

A few days would be better, but still matches would be going on at the same time (I assume) so it wouldn't be hugely time consuming. I say we just make it a mini-saga.

Edit: Consider this post redundant since I'm such a damn slow typer.

Doppeledit: Change the name of this board to 'Breakball Discussion' and then move it to a new, IC Breakball board. Problem solved.

1) Side-Game. Like Big Brother, this will done OOC. Though we'll play our own characters and it's still a writing game, it has no bearings on what is going on in character. If people want to fluid time to say "I played Breakball!" that's fine, but they should be able to work IC while playing

2) Saga. Players can only play this game and nothing else IC while in it. It's a full blown saga, taking place on the in character boards
