I also think the series should have ended at Cell. Though I have no problems with SSJ3 or even (gasp!) SSJ4. I think the last transformation is pretty unique, cool-looking, and inventive. Just the series it's in happens to be retarded beyond belief.
Filler should have been cut cut cut, and they should have focused more on gripping story. You find yourself yawning because they fill out episodes so friggin' much. My favourite anime to date is FMA, because it's a rollercoaster ride from start to finish with no filler. It doesn't last as long, but for the duration you're glued to your seat. It's a pity that other animes could be just as good if they just cut the dragged-out episodes and filler (Naruto, anyone?).
Didn't like Buu saga. It precursed GT with the whole "this doesn't make any fucking sense" thing. Seriously. Buu's been blown to pieces before and melted himself up, had holes blown through him and there's never any evidence of a stomach. Try logicalising that (I did it with the whole 'pocket dimension' thing, but still). In addition, Super should have reverted to Evil when he had Fattie pulled out of his stomach. That he reverts to Kid Buu made no fucking sense.
It was a shit storyline, but it did bring us SSJ3 and Fusion, which are okay in my book.

Yeah, Majin Vegeta was cool. The thing that Garlic Jr said about making the Buu saga a movie would have been a great idea.
Also, fusion.... lame.
Oh, oh, oh and Gotenks and Trunks reaching Super Saiyan when they're like only 6 years old, is pathetic. It was meant to be the pinical of the Saiyan race reaching super saiyan, and two half breeds, achieve it before their balls drop..... eh.
What we should do now is write what we liked about DBZ.

I forgot that, it's one of my highest. Seriously, wtf? They didn't even have a trigger!

Just remember one.
Super Buu screaming to get himself out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber after Piccolo destroyed it.
Seriously, screaming to rip open space and time continual thing or w/e it was.

EDIT: And for further notice, the actual DBZ storyline was supposed to be based on Gohan surpassing his father and unlocking his potential, not Goku and Vegeta's rivalry.
The rivalry should have been between Goku and Tien instead. It should have continued from DB. Ah well.

Tien is an interesting character, and I'm said that his history wasn't delved into much. =( My main complaint of the series was Frieza, but only 'cause I didn't know what gender he was when I was eight. =P

How there was such a blatant disregard for any kind of fighter who was "intelligent." Goku was an idiot. I hated that, it just made me mad. Vegeta had a redeeming factor when he bluffed Gero, but still.
And then, I recently saw the episode with Gero in it again.
Please, explain this to me:
19 pwned Goku. Gero almost killed Yamcha. Gero outmanuevered all of the Z fighters, and went to a battlefield where he'd have an advantage. Then, he sneaks up on Piccolo, and drains almost all of his energy. And then, magically, ALL of the Z fighters can kick Gero's ass, despite the fact that he was STRONGER than 19, without having to have absorbed any energy. He took almost all of Piccolo's energy, and OMGWTF Gohan can kick him through a building by sneezing. He was supposed to be a genius, and they made him seem like a blundering fool who could never get anything right.
Overall though, it was the lack of any realism whatsoever. A bad guy SHOULD have won at some point in time. Vegeta should have been able to kill everyone, or Furiza. Or such as in that movie that A13 is in, he should have killed everyone. Yet, miraculously, Goku gains some insane power at the last moment to save everyone, just 'cause he's Goku. Woop de doo.

The only reason 19 was beating Goku was because he was suffering from the heart virus, and yeah it wasn't cool how Goku always somehow was able to muster up enought energy to beat a guy all alone who single handedly beat each Z- fighter to a pulp (perfect example: Broli)

Still, 20 was technically "far more powerful" than Vegeta after his battle with 19. And somehow, when they track him down after he's absorbed some of Vegeta's energy, and almost all of Piccolo's energy, Gohan kicks him through a cliff with ease. I don't follow there.

I hated the fact that the names of the main villians of the Buu Saga were based off a phrase from Sleeping Beauty. >> Ya know, Bibidi, Babidi, and Buu. =P

Piccolo...after Namek, he was a fool until he fused with Kami, and then, even after that, he couldn't touch Cell or any other foe afterwords. He became a lesser rather quickly and he was major pwnage.
I also hated the fact that it was all about the Sayajins...sure they're strong and all that jazz, but i would have loved to see Chaotzu be of some use, other than suicidal missions on Siabamen.

Ugghh...time to begin my favorite pass time. Arguing.
Quote:A bad guy SHOULD have won at some point in time.
Are you serious..? Literally almost the entire series consisted mostly of villains whooping the Z warriors asses. Or are you saying that eventually a bad guy should have killed everyone and ended the series?
Quote:Pikkion could a used a more role in the Majin Buu Saga
Pikkon is not a real DBZ character, he was just filler. Akira did not create him and is simply there to fill up time while Akira continued to write the manga(which was being written at the same time the show was being made, so logically the show couldn't get ahead of the manga because then they would be making episodes about things that Akira hadn't even written yet).
Quote:Saiyan Domination - Very rarely did anyone not a saiyan contribute in any meaningful way to the fights after the Saiyan saga.
The sayians were clearly more powerful and yes they did usually(almost always) end up being the main focus of all the major fights but to say something like no nonsayians contributed to fights after the sayian saga is kind of ignorant(no offense). DBZ had an entire supporting cast of characters that although some may not have been exactly main characters each and every single one of them certainly had a purpose and most certainly at one point or another made a difference.

Oh no you didn't...you didn't just say that...
Anyone remember Piccolo, was he not a merciless killer in dragon ball who lived alone and only thought of plots to murder goku so he would be able to conquer the world? Now if my memory serves me correctly did he not eventually grow attached to Gohan in a fatherly type role, eventually befriends some of the Z warriors, and also end but fusing with Kami in order to attempt to save the world? Yeah that's called character development right there.
Quote:Everyone and their monkey going SSJ
Although I can't exactly justify this one I can defend it by saying that Akira once said in an interview that the super sayian gene was one that is passed down and once someone becomes a SSJ they're child(only if they were conceived after the transformation) would be able to achieve it much easier. Thus the reason why Trunks and Goten got it much easier than their fathers.
Quote:Gohan giving up fighting to do school. Dumbest plot move ever. I mean, hell. You just saved the universe. You are potentially the strongest person, like, ever. So what do you do? You go to high school and stop training.
This was not a dumb move at all, it was a realistic one. Lets remember that in all the time you don't see in DBZ(the first four years of gohans life, the year and a half in between the end of freiza saga and when goku comes back, the 7 years between cell and buu) gohan was always studying and doing school work, if you compair the time he worked for his education and the time he spent fighting obviously the education time would greatly out weight his training time, and once Cell was defeated and Gohan was officially the strongest fighter to ever live, what purpose was there to continue training? Absolutely none, except for maybe his own enjoyment which he did occasionally.
Ehh...oh well just needed to let my feelings be felt.

Favourite character no doubt. Too bad he wasn't strong enough to be compared to Goku in the Z series. That sucks.

Yeah, agreed. It wasn't really the Z Fighters. It was the Goku Cheerleading squad, essentially.

Not really. Sure, Krillin died so that Goku got SSJ. Piccolo pwn3d #17 for a bit. Tien held Cell at bay. But Krillin didn't kill Furiza, Goku did. Piccolo never killed #17. Tien didn't kill Cell. Every single major death in the series after a certain point is done by saiya-jin. And it's lame.

And is it not incredibly cliche and boring? Super muscular non-emotional guy gets in touch with his softer side by training a young boy, then gives his life to protect the young boy. Boring. It's been done. But yes, that is one of the better examples of a dynamic character throughout the story. Piccolo and Vegeta are perhaps the only two, and even then they're not all that interesting.
You probably think Sephiroth or Cloud is incredibly deep and emotional too.

Yeah, I know. It's still dumb.

Tragedies are befalling the earth left and right. The previous "defender of justice" (Goku) decides to stay in Heaven. None of your flunky friends are strong enough to even lick your foot. I really don't see how deciding to continue training is any more realistic than deciding to go back to school.

I didn't like the fact that Raditz died. =\ He was kind of cool, and I'm serious when I say this. I kind of wish they delved into his character and didn't make him into a total pansy.
