I'm thinking about 7 years or so. With the ideas I have, I don't see where it'd be difficult, but I would prefer if people adjust if the world has changed a bit, and not go "Ok, seven years later, things just happened to be exactly the same" but I really can't force that on people. I don't know if it will go down the way I'm wanting, it may just go "poof" we are in a different year. Who knows.

Agreed. I things should have changed a little bit. I also don't want it to start out as peaceful as can be. Something apocalyptic has to happen in order to get the story moving. Possibly could be the cause of an "Introduction Saga".

What I'd like is for time to have passed by in the world, but that Supes is still effectively the same one I know and love. Of course he'd be a bit more experienced, but nothing life-changing. Think the characters after the Naruto timeskip if you wanna know what I mean. In that sense, an era of relative peace sounds good. Maybe some people died, thrones switching places, but no massive wars until we resume the story.

Why can't we have apocolypse?

As someone keeping their canon, thumbs down. But that is just because I know I won't have the work done by that time to have taken over Arlia, and I would have nothing to fill the five year gap.

I think this hurts the people that are waiting till the reset to post up the 100 pages they have saved on their computer that they were storing for afterwards to get a boost.
EDIT: Yamu, you might have that work done by the time the storyline doing it is over, especially since I'm not sure if Arlia would even be a part of the storyline, and then you could simply have owned it for the seven or so years and established yourself a following and all sorts of things there.

I wouldn't mind posting that the war has been over for a couple years and Yamu has assumed control. I just didn't know if Staff would have awarded me the planet by then. Well, I guess I could just keep RPing in an unofficial capacity though...

You could continue your current campaign up until you succeed/fail (basically ignoring the time-skip for a little while) and THEN jump into the IC present.
Kind of a work-around, there, though it doesn't solve anything if you're uncomfortable with your character suddenly getting a bunch older. I dislike the idea, m'self, but I'm willing to help if we have to go with it. *Shrug*

The aging isn't a problem...Yams is already over 200. Just the plot break that I am nervous about. But I can get over it.

Could always fluid time it. Then at the end of the campaign, say:
And so, seven years in the future, Yamu sits at his throne, reflecting on the campaign that saw the lives and deaths of so many heroes to achieve its goal.

So here's a hypothetical: let's say the staff comes up with a storyline for Turnover. Let's also say that this storyline comes with a nice shiny, pre-packed explanation of why your character didn't change all ready to go.
Would anyone who voted "no" change their vote to "yes"?

Not me. A two year shift isn't that bad.

Is everyone uniquely voting, or using multiple computers to add votes? I ask this b/c only 17 people have responded to this, and yet the votes are completely inflated past that. I notice a ton of random votes in CPW, too, which is why I never bother to run an actual poll since the numbers are never correct.

I haven't actually voted, since there was no option for 'about 5', and I thought it better to explain my decision anyway.

Not to be an asshole, but no, not really. I would be more comfortable fluiding my current quest after the turnover because I know it probably won't be done until afterwards, and I don't want to fuck up what I had planned for it by explaining away a timeskip in the middle of it. Afterwards, however, I don't really mind.
Fuck you, Photobucket.

Why does that make you an asshole?

And, for clarification, this isn't something that you would be "explaining away." You would either choose whether or not your character would be affected by it. If they are affected by it, cool, hooray for time travelers. If they aren't affected by it you just continue RPing on your merry way and it still makes sense within the event.

Are you talking about the RRA storyline? Haven't you been working on that for like a year and a half now? I thought you had finished it by now, to be honest.
Anyways, this probably wouldn't happen for another few months anyways, so how is that not time to finish it?

If we do a timejump then we'd probably only make a "general" few lines of history for each planet, which should be easily filled with anything you want in your own characters' history.
I think..
