Are you talking about the RRA storyline? Haven't you been working on that for like a year and a half now? I thought you had finished it by now, to be honest.
Anyways, this probably wouldn't happen for another few months anyways, so how is that not time to finish it?
I havenmt even been on Chubbs for a year and a half yet. Oo But I was moving and stuff, remember? I had to keep putting it on hold. But I guess it should be enough time to finish it. I got other players working with me, so I got to consider their time needs too, you know?
Fuck you, Photobucket.

If people have a problem with the idea I'd rather just not do it.

Both of your stances of being against it are noted.

Does that mean you're going to do it anyway? >_>

Hypothetically, if we do it, is there something wrong with it?

If people are against it because it would screw up their storyline and others are for it because it would be neat, I think you should listen to the people who are going to be adversely affected. Like I said in my first post, I think it'd be neat, but only if it's not going to screw things up for other people. I'm far too used to the same happening to me and being totally fucked over because someone things an idea would be "pretty cool". =P
This is all assuming you don't find a method that people can agree on. I'm just saying that if you can't, it would be better to leave things as they are.

At the same time, though, you two are both against the entire reset, or were at the time.

As far as I can tell, most people who replied in this thread agree on a timejump.
To the ones who wouldnt like a timejump Im asking: Why not? What would be the difference between not having such a jump in time and having one when you can use flashbacks/fluid time/talking about the past to fill those years in for yourself? Especially since it also gives a lot of people a great opportunity and freedom to create a past they want.

Can I ask this: why have a time jump?

Personally if you're going custom I don't see the need. You can create the past without a time jump. As far as I can see, the only things it affects are the canon characters, and what happens to old canons.

Yeah, I was against the reset. I am still a little iffy on it, but if the ends justify the means, then sure. Ok. Stats really aren't anything but playing fodder, anyways, right?
I said I would be cool with the time jump if it were a small one, not a huge lapse in time, if I, and other players, who are currently doing things, may not finish in time when the Turnover happens, could finish what they are working on after, fluiding whats left of whatever they are working on and picking up the change afterwards. If we could do that, then sure. Cool. It'd be interesting. Although, I don't really see too much of a point in it, except for some good RP fodder.

So here's a hypothetical: let's say the staff comes up with a storyline for Turnover. Let's also say that this storyline comes with a nice shiny, pre-packed explanation of why your character didn't change all ready to go.
Would anyone who voted "no" change their vote to "yes"?
I'm confused by this. The 'why your character didn't change' part. If you guys want to do a story line, I'll find a way to make it work for Yamu. Basically, I'm withdrawing my objection. At the very least it will give me incentive to churn out the posts I want to get done before Turnover.

Rad's saying that if you want nothing to happen to your character, they'll explain why nothing happened to you while something happened to everyone else.

Because everything is going to change. Not only is it a nice symbolic way of saying we moved on, and puts people in the right mindset, but it sheds the baggage of the old Chubbs universe and alot of the making up excuses as to why things are the way they are now. It opens up saga and plot ideas, sets up some excellent RP fodder, and is just damn cool.
It's as close as we can get to "wiping the slate clean" without a pesky total reset.

It also creates a free "breathing space" to create new backgrounds for people. It also ages Kajin Rala a bit, incase someone wants to base their background there.

I voted a timeskip. I always like timeskips as they leave room for additional RP later on. If you continuesly keep playing it is hard in the end to make up things like flashbacks or reasons for new things to happen. That would be because you already have filled all the gaps, not leaving room for secrets.
Now if you have a gap, you could use it for a flashback, that changed everything for you, without making it unrealistic.
Heck you could even add an evil part to yourself. You could roleplay you became evil, for a reason you changed back to being good, but some part is still there.
Now you have this evil part inside you, you can have a great roleplay dealing with it in the presence. You could do all kind of things with your character and still make it believeble.
Basicly it is the perfect to add new depths to a character that you've been using for so long it was becoming a routine. A time gap is just an almost unlimited bag of possibility's for your character.
So you have my vote!
Or you could always do flashbacks via quoting your previous rps or saying that it happened before you began rp'ing.

Except that 23 people have said that they want a time-jump. Like I said in the OP, we're probably going to do whatever wins the poll.

The only solid answer so far has been "because it'd be cool."
"I wasted time and now time doth waste me."
"I just made you up to hurt myself, and it worked."
