I've read through most of it and say that everyone EXCEPT CORNISS AND COOLA, deserve to be heard because this effects them.

Ima say Corniss has been here b4. Just how he acts. Not RP style but OOC.

Aslo ima ask staff keep staff shit where it belongs. Erm oh and im not voting... if I stay as Retane.... 20 years dont mean shit
i can pick up from where I lef t off

What I forgot to ask Reb is if they were continuing or not the tokens
I don't deserve to be heard? What's that supposed to mean? Are you downsizing me simply because I haven't been here as long? And Corniss, too. He deserves as much as everyone. We all have our incorrect opinions and false facts, even you.

Just to let you know, I forgot what I was going to say to you, but still...Oh, and if there's twenty years in between, you can't just say "Oh, yeah, Retane was lazy and did nothing". That's idiotic.

Not sure if this will have anything to do with the time lapse (or lack thereof), but will alliances be liquidated or is that a matter of choice?

Whether Its still in effect I'm not sure but last I heard they are being liquidated and you can just reform them if you so desire. Which is another plus on the logic side of things for time skip.

just a comment, but what do you mean by liquidate? Like, erase the alliance board completely, and kick everyone out of the alliances they are already in?

Fuck you, Photobucket.

I assume it has more to do with coding but, yeah, complete breakdown of all alliances. Just what I remember reading a while ago.

No. Alliances where originally concepted as a gathering of IC allies that were working together to accomplish a certain goal, and it gave them a planning area and they would later dissolve or move on or whatever. Since then, certain alliances have proven that they'd rather bend the character over backwards and have him to do things he wouldn't normally do just to keep him in the alliance, and then it grew into whoever is in an alliance is expected to be a member for life.

So its pretty much a given that after the reset, even brand new characters that are run by certain people and have more in common with other people they met around the beginning will somehow find themselves back in the same alliance their creator's were in. At this point the Alliances are more OOC than IC, with it being a gathering of the people behind the characters.

Okay. So what is getting done to alliances?

Edit: I reread more carefully. You were 'no'ing my assumption of coding being behind the liquidation?

Honestly, I'd prefer it if they were liquidated. Also, I think that someone should have to have IC ties to someone to be invited to an alliance by them, since IC means is what they were originally created for. All invitations should have to be roleplayed out, etc.

This theory has been looked at number of times.

Obviously. Just reviving it since we're going into the reset.

Erasing the alliances also has to do with changes were making in alliance concepts and the like. We're not about to stop people from reforming any of their alliances, but they'll find that they don't work 100% the same. Not huge changes, but enough that not all alliance material will translate straight across.

It'll make more sense once everything's switched over.

Again, you're all welcome to reform any alliances you have no once we hit turnover, but they will be erased from Chubbs when things hit. The new roster won't show existing alliances and all of the current alliance boards will be gone.

I might have to start dishing time-outs.

Attitudes of either of you two aside, which make both argument look bad I might add, I think we can make a good list here.

Pros:

Cons:

Everyone C+P and add to the list with their complaints and likes. Keeps it precise and minus the bullshit! Yay!

Pro:

-Removes logical difficulties with the sudden and violent changes that will take place.

- Provides Role playing opportunities

- Sets mental state towards starting anew

Cons:

- Inconveniences current story lines

Garlic what do you mean with unconvenience on current story lines? We still have a month left, I think it would be easy to just finish what's currently going on. And just write towards the time gap. Like writing your character is going to leave for a while to train somewhere/go look for something/get a family... just anything.

I don't see any problems with it.
You really don't know how long it takes for some storylines to finish, do you? I remember looking over Bulma's Spiritken training. The time of the first post to the time when Burter graded it was 6 MONTHS. Dante's Abyss: Conquest took three months. This saga I'm in now so far has taken already a month, and we're not even close to finished.

6 Months, only because I fluid timed. Would have been shorter. Say half that time.

So, are we defiantely having a time skip? Just a heads up, that's all.

28 for and 18 against. Chances are very good that there will be a time skip.

Whats the difference? Isn't everything starting over/ new characters going to be introduced for the first time anyway? Who does this time shift target exactly?

It's basically for the people who want their characters to have lived on Kaijin Rala, or those who want their characters to been conceived after the reset. I personally think a lot of the appeal of KR is that it is the sole 'new planet' in the universe, which offers a lot of cool RPing fodder, and the second I agree doesn't make much difference, but there you go. It looks like those of us staying with old characters will just have to deal, or gtfo.

You don't need to sound so bitter. This wasn't decided by the staff. Its very evident that more members want a time-skip.

But like I argued before, just because someone thinks something is cool doesn't necessarily mean they would go through with it. My initial post was this:

I actually wouldn't be opposed to this, as long as I could fluid time the events that happened before the shift. It kind of slots in with a few ideas I had.

Of course, if it screws up things for other people, I'd rather let it be.
And that's still my opinion. This poll is very much a tentative "would you, personally, like a timeskip?" as opposed to "would you advocate the timeskip?" - the latter taking into account the fact that people are now well aware that others are going to be fucked over by it.

It's also very bad to use a figure of roughly 60% for to justify fucking over the remaining 40%. You're looking purely at the numbers, and not the context. It's not like those people who want the timeskip so that they can roleplay having lived on KR for the past 5-10 years are actually going to lose much if they can't have that - their storylines haven't even started yet, so they have complete room to mould it.

And just so you know, this isn't me accusing you of deliberately misinterpreting things for your own benefit, or 'an attack on Chubbs' in any way. This is just me pointing out a lapse in logic.

I've got something I think I can do if the timeskip goes into effect. yay kids.

edit: I am trying to look at the bright side of things, although I really want to kick whoever thought of a timeskip. >.>
