What does that mean then? Are you even going to take what he is saying into consideration, then?

I find this odd. You are forcing people to have to take write something to help people be able to write how they want? That's like stifling people's freedom of speech to retain that freedom.

Clarify so I don't misinterpret.

The timeskip. You said people will have to take into account no matter what. I remember your initial proposal, Rei, and a key characteristic in it was that you wanted peopel to have the freedom to roleplay how they want, and you've seemed to keep on stressing that, yet you are going to force people to do this. I find it contradictory.

What I mean is this: In an effort to create a consistent world, we have to do certain things. If you are, say, frozen in time or something to that effect, then your character will be the same person after this event and time skip. You could also let your character exist through it to evolve them if you wish. The character itself is what you want it to be.

The world, the part that we have to deal with, is what will be different. Five years down the road, is there even going to be a Planet Vejita, or is it possible that in a huge war its become a barren wasteland, lifeless, aside from those view that get thrust here through a time hole? Theoretically, if this where the vision we chose while crafting the new world, then we'd have to expect someone to be affected if they were determined that they were going to continue with being a soldier for Planet Vejita. The world is not going to completely sit still.

I'm probably being a complete arrogant dick when I say this, but I feel that members are in control of their character, and how their character interacts within the world and affects it. On the same note, I feel that the staff guide the greater world itself, and that changes the grounds that the members are interacting with it on.

As stated before, when Earth was frozen over, and the shops closed down, we made a point of saying so, that Earth was completely frozen over, and you could not purchase from there. If we did a saga where Saiyans and Namekians ended the event in a complete racial hatred of each other, then yes, we'd have to state that no Namekians would be given entry to Vejita-sei, and they'd likely be attacked by the guards. To make such a claim and then have people go "Well, I'm planning for my character to not be affected" is a bit off course.

The world will be affected. How it affects your character is your choice. We, or I at least as I no longer wish to speak for anyone other than my own opinion, would like to just make that transition as painless and smooth as possible, but that doesn't mean complete gliding over.

Would you find sense in the following scenario? "Seven years from now... The Earth had been taken into the control of Lord Frost's decendants, forcing anyone that visited it to be a slave for life. On a nearby beach, John calmly walked past a dozen guards as he belched out loud, seeing them carry thousands of prisoners right past him while paying no attention to him." As a character, he's the same guy. As an environment, there are differences.

One of the underlying points in Reijin's post, and something everyone needs to understand, is that a lot of things are still being planned. We have to speak in a lot of generalities because that's all we have at the moment. The first member response to the post directly above mine would probably be "well what exactly is going to be changed?" We don't know. We've barely decided on doing a time-skip and that's far from set in stone. Yeah, we have some saga ideas up in the air, but nothing's final about that, either.

As I stated before, people will end up pissed off about something no matter what we do. That's a foregone conclusion and something we've accepted. We, however, are going to do everything in our power to make it as easy for everyone as possible.

Yes, we're going to be asking (telling?) people to make some compromises about what they had planned. No, its not entirely fair, but we do what we do in order to make things as easy as possible for the majority. Yes the minority will suffer and yes that blows, but we need everyone to just accept that at the moment.

We can only address so many things without knowing all the specifics, so we can't address individual problems. Yeah, Super Buu may have a problem with what he wants done right now, but two weeks from today we might end up with something that works out perfectly for him. Maybe we don't do the timeskip and Android 20's plans get screwed up. We don't know. There's an inifinite number of things that could possibly go wrong and we can only handle them one at a time.

Shut up Greg. You yell at Reijin for mocking you in a post, yet you do the exact same thing with the whomps.

Arguing with you is hardly an enjoying experience. You tend to be both incredibly vague, and crazily aggressive, meaning Staff has to defend themselves against almost illegible ideas. When we accidentally misread your misshapen statements, you suddenly skip to an explanation that paints your post not only in a different color and light, but different shapes, and the process begins all over again.

Further, you absolutely love taking a step back from the debate and criticizing the way someone else is debating, always with negative implications. Is it too much to believe that Reijin is absolutely exasperated with your argumentative style?

You've made your stupendously witty and hypocritical comeback. Reijin is fed up with your arguing. Let's say we leave it at that.

The only person I haven't been civil with in this thread is Reijin. Respect is a two-way thing, and I'm frankly sick of being treated with sarcasm. If someone can't be bothered to keep their cool with me, why should I? Everyone else in this thread can manage to argue civilly, so why can't he?

Quote:I think this hurts the people that are waiting till the reset to post up the 100 pages they have saved on their computer that they were storing for afterwards to get a boost.
Quote:Is everyone uniquely voting, or using multiple computers to add votes? I ask this b/c only 17 people have responded to this, and yet the votes are completely inflated past that. I notice a ton of random votes in CPW, too, which is why I never bother to run an actual poll since the numbers are never correct.
Quote:Are you talking about the RRA storyline? Haven't you been working on that for like a year and a half now? I thought you had finished it by now, to be honest.
Quote:Violet, SB, what I was meaning up there was that with you guys being against the reset, I kinda expect you to be against anything else involving the reset by nature. Similar to if you showed up at a testing area for "What kind of syrup do you want on your waffle" and you said "I don't like waffles" and then when asked about the type of syrup, you say "... I don't want syrup". So yeah, we know your stance, and are hoping to make the decision for who is best for everyone.
Quote:Bra, you just feel like being a bitch today, or am I just the lucky one?

No, he's not outright insulting people, but up until Bra lost his cool with Reijin's demeanour, almost every single post Reijin made in this thread has had some sarcastic undercurrent. I'm all for humour, but there is a time and a place. At the risk of telling Reijin how to do his job, it's not a good idea to mock your userbase, especially not in a thread like this.

If you look at other threads where I've argued, then I rarely ever lose my cool. In this thread, for example, as others have pointed out to me, I only started to get pissed off when other people can't be bothered to remain civil. Ie:

You must play Final Fantasy games and be like, "But what if I don't want to blow up the fucking Mako reactor? What then? Why is this fucking game making me blow up the fucking Mako reactor?"

Reijin has told me, in effect, that he's going to ignore what I'm saying. The whomp is something that staff members tend to use to call members stupid. As is evident by the little smiley I used, I was using it ironically. Even when I'm normally exasperated with someone, I don't do this, but as I said, I'm treating others as they treat me. If you argue respectfully, then I'll do the same.

If you can show me where I've lost my cool without provocation, then I'll apologise. But personally I think you're being rather hypocritical. =/

As for my statements being ambiguous, I'd like to see out of genuine curiosity an instance of where I've done that. I'm not saying you're wrong - the internet is a medium that makes it difficult for anyone to get their message across. But I tend to make sure I'm as clear as possible, and I don't think I'm more guilty of being vague than anyone else.

I'd rather you PM me with the examples, since this thread is pretty badly derailed as it is. I'm curious where you get this stuff, since you say it about me a lot.

Reijin wasn't being sarcastic or trying to insult anyone (directly or indirectly) in any of those quotes, SB. That's the way he "talks" on Chubbs. You just have to understand that there is nothing malicious about them whatsoever.

No one said they're going to ignore what you've said. You're making an aggressive assumption and using it in a way that makes Reijin look bad. Even if Reijin does decide to ignore what you say, he's not the only staffer and he's not the only admin.

The thread you linked to is a pretty good example of what Krillin was talking about. You may look at it as a calm, collected, and very civil approach to trying to get something done, but I personally see it as an exaggerated attack against Chubbs by someone who's only interested in looking out for what directly affects them. Its just a difference of opinion, and its the same thing in your case. You see Reijin's post as being attacks on someone, whereas I see them as nothing, because I know that's how Reijin has alwats talked. If all we had to do was cater to your personal needs, then this job would be a lot easier, but that's not the case. We do what we think is best for the community as a whole whether or not we have you blessing and we're going to continue doing it. I'm sorry if that means you don't like all of our decisions, but that's somethind we, as a collective staff, are prepared to deal with.

Next person to start up an argument like this is banned. I'm being very serious. You're free to ask questions, but you'll get the answer you get. If that answer changes, we'll let you know. If you want to pursue a conversation over IM or PM, please do so, but as SB said, this thread has been derailed enough as it is.

EDIT: Oh, and the whomp doesn't mean people are being stupid.

The thing is, as I said earlier in this thread, on a purely selfish level I'm 100% for the timeskip. It fits SB fine. And the other threads don't have so much to do with me as wider Chubbs issues. I don't see where you get that I'm acting out based on personal motives.

As I said to Krillin, you can PM me if you'd rather.

Edit: By Reijin ignoring what I said, I mean his reply which was "Forget it. Super Buu = +1 Point". I don't know how else to interpret that besides him deciding to ignore me.

He's not ignoring you, he's finished with the argument. I attempted to show you why.

I don't really have anything more to say, personally, so I won't be sending a PM or anything. If you want to talk about it further, feel free to hit me up on IM or something.

As much as it's worth, I'm not trying to beat you down or anything Greg, but this is an issue that has come up time and time again, and this is exactly how I (and, it seems, a few other Staff members) see it. I would rather just ignore it, but unfortunately I think it's to the point where it seriously needs to be dealt with. Nonetheless, this is hardly something others need to see.

I don't see any reason to PM you about anything. As I stated, further argument will result in bannings being passed around. If you feel like you need to clarify something, PM the person to avoid sparking an argument.
