You can do any RPG ya want, but don't throw the Chubbs name on it. It won't be any branch off Chubbs because it 's not staff endorsed.

I know. If I do it then it won't be Chubbs. I just thought Chubbs might like to do it.

You'll have to discuss it elsewhere. It sounds to me like you're wanting to leech off our member base

Shut up everyone. My stat system makes damn good sense.
An RPG for the sake of roleplaying is gay. I tried that X-Men one Dave suggested for like two days before I decided it was completely gay and quit. There are stats in X-Men Legends, did that game fail? City of Heroes? There should be a PvP board and a non-PvP board. If you want to roleplay a weak character just for the writing, then fine... but give the other guys that want to advance and compete against each other that option. Someone that joins as Superman would pwn everybody, as well he should. But there would be items like Kryptonite, powerups like the Power Cosmic, and NPCs with an affiliation to your character that would have the power to rape Superman. If there was a flood of Supermans, Thors and Sentries, then everyone would be on the same page. If there is one Thor, then the NPCs of Loki and Absorbing Man would be all over his ass anytime he decides to go crazy and fuck with everyone. If he decides to kill Reed Richards, then the Human Torch and The Thing (if they were NPCs) wouldn't stand by and let it happen. If they were PCs and didn't give a fuck, then the NPCs of Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Namor, Blackbolt (you fucking name it... every character in a comic is plugged up the ass) would step in. Of course there would be characters off limits like Galactus and Thanos, and perhaps some superpowers on the good side as well. I doubt anyone here reads comics and just wants to role play Hugh Jackman and not Wolverine. =x EDIT: sorry Reb D=

Quote:Originally posted by Bojack You're right. It does, on its own merit. But not when coupled with a Marvel context. Quote:An RPG for the sake of roleplaying is gay. There's a huge difference between a forum-based RPG and a console RPG. There's practically no parallel between them whatsoever. Quote:There should be a PvP board and a non-PvP board. No. This lack of focus could totally decimate an up-and-coming RPG. This would be mayhem. Quote:Someone that joins as Superman would pwn everybody, as well he should. But there would be items like Kryptonite, powerups like the Power Cosmic, and NPCs with an affiliation to your character that would have the power to rape Superman. And then the RPG would die. Who wants to roleplay like that? Quote:If there was a flood of Supermans, Thors and Sentries, then everyone would be on the same page. But see, you could just write something for that from the get-go. No need for a bunch of people playing those individual characters. The combat would be so shallow that it would be a matter of doing research to see who would win, not actual writing talent. If you want to do something like that, then go make it. I can guarantee it'll largely fail, but prove me wrong. Quote:Of course there would be characters off limits like Galactus and Thanos, and perhaps some superpowers on the good side as well. So where is the line drawn? No matter what, you'll have a few characters that completely own, and a few that totally suck.
