I don't know man I'm really surprised and shocked...not only did they kill him but also his wife and seven year old son. That is really crazy, what kind of sick bastard would do something like that? Really, I've been in a daze for the past few hours.

Dude... I keep reading more about it, this is fucking bullshit. Fayetteville, GA... that's not that far from here, didn't know he lived there.

They killed him, his wife, and seven year old son. He canceled going to Vengeance PPV last night at the last minute for "personal reasons" which probably involved this. He just got transfered to ECW too and they were making a huge deal about it given that he's one of the best technical wrestlers to date.

They canceled a three hour arena that was supposed to be a special to further the story alot and are refunding money to do a three hour tribute in an empty arena now b/c Edge and other wrestlers are just breaking up on camera while finding out. Noone can even make themselves stay in character long enough to bother doing their job tonight. This is a HUGE harsh blow.

They arn't supposed to be in character. They all knew Beniot as a person, not as who they pretend to be. This whole tribute thing isn't an act. It's real. They arn't "performing", they are actually paying tribute to a man they all loved.

Say wha? No, you missed what I mean. I probably worded it bad. I'm saying the people are not able to function enough to do a show tonight; that's the impression this man has made upon the industry with his work and committment. When you see someone who always makes themselves the "badass" that is so hard up there crying and reflecting, you know how close they are to the guy.

About the murder thing...

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- WWE wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and son were found dead Monday and police said they were investigating the deaths as a homicide.
Lt. Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department said the three were found at their home about 2:30 p.m., but refused to release details.
Pope said results of autopsies on Benoit, his wife Nancy, and 7-year-old son Daniel were expected Tuesday.
Benoit, 40, was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career.
"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the federation said in a statement on its Web site.
Benoit was scheduled to perform at the "Vengeance" pay-per-view event Sunday night in Houston, but was replaced at the last minute because of what announcer Jim Ross called "personal reasons."
Benoit, a Canadian native, maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.
The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast.

Hey guys, let's keep this thread for speculation on the deaths and the other thread for tributes. I don't want to turn the other one into speculation because it's to honor him.

from Fox:Local 10p news (WAGA-TV) is reporting that investigators have told them that, based on evidence found inside the home that they are not ready to disclose, they believe Benoit may have killed his wife & son a couple of days earlier before taking his own life sometime in the past 24 hours.
According to WAGA, the bodies were discovered by a neighbor today after WWE "promoters" were unable to reach the Benoits by phone. The bodies were found in separate rooms, Nancy in an office area, Daniel in an upstairs bedroom, and Chris in a weight room.

I've seen gossip/rumor articles that state Nancy Beniot (she was his valet, Woman, in WCW) was mentally unstable. Never heard anything about Beniot being unstable, in fact I always heard he was unusually healthy for a wrestler

Maybe... She might have killed their son and then herself, and he came home, found out, and grieved for days before calling the WWE to tell them he wouldn't be making it. Then he may have gone and worked it out in frustration with no spotter and ended up killing himself in the process.

I'm thinking if it was a murder-suicide, Nancy would have been the one to do it, but then again Beniot could have been mentally unstable for any unseen reasons.

Such as bad news regarding his wife and son having the same illness. The typical "mercy killing - oh shit what have i done, fuck, kill myself" routine. Where they believe due to severe mental stress that its what's best for everyone.

I don't think Chris would have it in him to kill his wife and son, or himself. He loved life too much to just take it like that.

Latest update on the news is its being treated as a homocide. Again, fucked up. The tribute tonight, the ending where him and Eddie are hugging and celebrating was a great ender. =(

I don't like wrestling. I watched a little bit of it for the storylines, but then decided everyone on it is way too full of themselves and I hate that in people.

I occasionally watch it and have attempted to do it with a few friends of mine. Unfortunately life has prevented us from doing it, it was fun though.

Btw, I don't watch it because I don't like it. It's because I am the same way with any and all types of sports/sports entertainment. I'd rather be out doing it or trying to then sitting down and watching it be done by somebody else.
