Its just crazy. Like, it seriously makes absolutely no sense. It doesn't fit the man at all. Like when Eddie died, everyone including me was like "damn, knew he'd OD sooner or later". When Owen Hart died... It was a tragedy. When this happens? I can't figure it out...

Seriously, this makes no sense though. I didn't even realize he lived in GA to be honest, since he's always had a big deal made of being Canadian.

Sources in the Fayette County Police Department are now working under the theory that Chris Benoit killed Nancy on Saturday, son Daniel on Sunday, and then killed himself earlier today.

Benoit was found dead in his weight room. Nancy was found dead in the living room. Daniel was found dead in his bedroom, accordig t an unnamed source in the department.

Lt. Tommy Pope told ABC News "the instruments of death were located on the scene," but didn't specify what those were or where they were found. Pope said the department was not actively searching for any suspects outside the house.

This is too premeditated it sounds like.

According to lead investigator Lt. Tommy Pope, of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, in Fayetteville, Ga., the deaths of WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, wife Nancy and son Daniel were the result of a double murder-suicide, WWE.com has learned.

Benoit failed to appear both at Saturday’s live event in Beaumont, Tx., and WWE’s Vengeance: Night of Champions in Houston Sunday night, after informing WWE of a family emergency. Several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning prompted concerned friends to alert Richard Hering, VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. Hering, in turn, spoke with Fayette County sheriffs Monday, and requested that they respond to the Benoit residence to check on him and his family.

Authorities representing the Sheriff’s Department initially had a difficult time entering Benoit’s new Fayetteville home Monday afternoon, which had been guarded by two large German Shepherds roaming freely around the property. Once authorities entered the residence, they quickly located the bodies of Benoit, Nancy and Daniel. WWE was notified of the discovery at approximately 4 p.m.

At 10 p.m. Monday night, Lt. Pope held a press conference in conjunction with Scott Ballard, the district attorney for Fayette County. The press conference officially ruled authorities’ findings as a double murder-suicide from within the home.

WAGA, a FOX-owned and operated television station in Atlanta, reported that investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son over the weekend, then himself on Monday.

The three bodies have been received by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab, in Decatur, Ga., where autopsies will be performed Tuesday morning. Toxicology reports will not become available for at least two weeks.

WWE.com has further information relating to both the investigation and the cause of death, but the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department has requested that WWE.com not release any additional details at this time.

Just watched CNN about it this morning and the lady is saying that something weird about the entire thing is that reportedly people have been calling "the station" for about two weeks now asking if Beniot was dead. Despite him only having missed the Saturday and Sunday show before WWE supposedly called a "wellness check" on him, after he left Saturday for a "family emergency"

Yeah, they believe it was a double-murder suicide, but everyone knows that police only label sometime suicide if . . .


a.) The evidence shows suicide.

b.) There is no evidence to really label it as homicide.


It could be either of the two, since they're not releasing more details. The toxicology report done on Tuesday should clear some clouds in the mystery though if it was suicide, because drugs may have been involved--anit-depressants, or something of the sort.

I don't think if he did it, that he's suddenly a horrible person. Don't get me wrong; it's a horrible thing and I would be disgusted, but it doesn't change the fact that he was always one of the best at what he did.

As I said, there are any numbers of reasons that he might be mentally unstable.

Purposely killing a child is on my list of things that do in fact ruin your good past. Not much short of saving a burning orphanage single handedly could balance that out. And even then. Dan was, what, seven? I'm not going to go ranting and get angry and disgrace others mourning because the facts aren't known yet, but if he did it no good word about him will come from my mouth.

I'm not one to piss on peoples conversations. If they talk about his wrestling its fine, but about his merits as a person... well nothing set yet is it?

Something odd was happening, thats for sure. And he's a star, that automatically makes you a suspect in a murder/suicide.

I'm not going to pretend to know who he was personally, but I have seen a LOT of his out of character interviews and I've watched him on screen (and in person a few times). Rad said it best. He didn't need to talk, he just had to go out there and do his stuff and you knew he was the real deal. When I think of modern day technical wrestling, I compare it to Beniot.

I've never met the guy, but I did meet Eddie Guerrero twice before and he had nothing but good things to say about Beniot. They and Perry Saturn were like brothers.

Ironically, they suspect roid rage as a possible motivator for the crime.

EDIT: And what I told you was that the AP was reporting that he strangled his wife, smothered his son, and then hung himself in his private weight room.

PS: CNN is about to show the press conference with the Sheriff regarding the case. I suggest people watch it before further speculation takes place.

Asfixiation by death for the son and wife.

7 year old Son found murdered in bedroom on his bed upstairs.

The wife was wrapped in a towel, and her feet and wrists were bound, and there was blood under her head. She was found upstairs in a family room

They think he killed them as early as friday and hung himself on Sunday.

There were prescribed anabolic steroids found. The official note on the drugs found will take about a week.

There were bibles next to the wife and son's dead bodies.

Chris's body was found in the basement weight room.

The autopsy has indicated that hse died friday, the son saturday morning, and Chris laterthat saturday.

Chris hung himself with the cord on a weight lifting machine.

Steroids were found, but it is not yet confirmed that he was on them.

Ugh at steroids. One of the things I loved about Beniot was he refused to participate in the big 'Roid Pump during the 90's when all the wrestlers did it, and that's why he was shunned.

My immediate guess is they finally pressured him into it, or he felt he needed to, and this happened. I definetly think that someone in professional wrestling pushed him towards steroids, but I'm just blown over because the whole reason he never got by in the 90's was cause he REFUSED to roid up

There's still a chance he didn't kill his family. For all we know, he could have been coming back home and found them dead; then killed himself.


My father's admitted that if I ever died he may kill himself since there would be nothing else for him to live for.

Yea, I'm still not totally convinced. The WWE world is very corrupt, almost mafia-esque, so I wouldn't be surprised that he was a victim of some plot. I don't want to come up with conspiracy theories without knowing facts personally, but I'll never rule out that he was set up
