Tech/Item Suggestions
#41
First Tiers are used to refer to SSJ, SNS, the first Android Upgrade, etc.

The corresponding "First Tier" would be KK, since that's the line that provides the Second Tier. The KK First Tier is x25.

It's all in the eye of the beholder.

Myself? I see Oozaru/Transformation1/Spiritken as first tiers. Namekians seem to lack one.

Back to the topic at hand...

....

Well, my idea isn't exactly a tech/item idea...

....

Wait. Here's one:

Astroprojection - Allows the user to take their metaphysical 'soul' and leave their body, leaving an empty shell of what was once them; this metaphysical version of them can then travel across dimensions at will, and, if the user spends the required amount of time in the other dimension, they may, perhaps, be accepted for training by Dabura or King Kai. However, this Astral Projection can only be used for a period of two months OOC; if the user does not return to their physical body before this time period ends, they will suffer the inability to escape from Yenma's castle upon future death. (In essence, they will be 'banned' from Heaven, Hell, and Kaiousama's)

Transfigure - Though this will not physically or permanently transform the enviornment around a fighter, this ability allows them to temporarily shape a battlefield to their will. For example, two people fighting on Mercy-sei, and one works better in an enviornment more akin to a rainforest, takes this technique and visually and (in the eyes of the combatants) physically alters it this way. This is, however, a form of 'hypnosis,' therefore, only fighters involved in the battle are able to envision this new enviornment. Spectators, unless the tech is aimed to include them, cannot see this change in enviornment.

Ki Drain - All life teems with Ki. Naturally, a number of warriors have attempted to take advantage of all this free-floating Ki, and a few have found a way to do it. By draining anything that lives of its Ki, one can replenish their own Ki. Plants, animals, and even other people can be drained in this manner. The more complex and capacious the Ki vessel, however, the more concentration is required to utilize this Technique. At the slightest interruption of concentration, the link can be broken, and thus, this is a very difficult Technique to implement in the heat of battle.

Pet - A person can gain the assistance of a pet in battle, much in the same manner as the hunters in computer and console RPGs can, by purchasing one.

Demon - Much in the same manner as RPG warlocks, if a person is sent to HFIL, then they can purchase a 'demon' which will follow them around and assist them in battle against others.

100% Power - An tier power-up where the user builds up more and more ki inside of his body, buildng up his muscles beyond conceivable mass. This has been used many television DBZ characters (Furiza, Cell, Trunks). Speed is halved through this power-up, however.
Requirements: 200 Determination, training for it.
Increase: 1.5; is "stackable"
Decrease: -50% Speed/Agility

That seems pretty close to ki absorption.

Ki Absorption only draws from the enemy, and is not well-defined.

Empathy - Rarely, two warriors who become particularly close, in their demeanor, outlook, fighting style, and ideals, can become connected in a way that has been termed "Empathy". While this connection has varying levels of effects, two warriors connected in such a way exhibit an amazing amount of synchronization in their fighting styles. In fact, if two warriors are Empathetic enough, they can set each other up for attacks with little or no communication expressed between them. Further, merely fighting alongside each other is a boost to their personal power, sometimes as much as 10% of their total power. There are drawbacks to such a connection, however. As the Ki of one is drained, the Ki of the other becomes more slippery, and difficult to put into an attack. If one is killed, the other may be seriously injured, or (in extreme connections), even killed themselves. Such connections take large amounts of time to create, and are extremely rare (still no one knows how they are created). Even so, they can be severed, though it is a difficult and painful process.

(Obviously, this is a weird sort of Tech. I'm not sure entirely how it would work, but I would suggest two people would need to train for it. Very likely, there would be tiers, or some sort of percentage system. For an example of something like this, thing Kreia and the Exile in KOTOR 2)

Just thought I'd point out that when it comes to terminology of powerups and the classification of stuff, its actually the eye of the staff that choose it. The staff tier system basically looks at it as Tier 1 = SSJ Equivalent per race. (Meaning x20 normally, but in the case of nontransformers, it'd be x25, we've put it into that spot.) Tier 2 = SSJ2 equivalent (similar ordeal) So I'd say the stuff like Oozaru and Spiritken are more like "freebie powerups" as they are fairly simple to get and mostly just rp fodder.

@Stats: Gotcha, and yeah I realized after that this was the wrong thread to mention it, and that nothing would probably change. So I guess I suggest actually using them for something, rather than just extra work every week for everyone with no actual purpose to it.

I'd suggest bringing back the Ki Rifles, the old ones like I have. They were intended so that they were "bonus" items that not everyone could have, but now they are outdated to the new ones (which is fine) so I think bringing back the old ones at a cheaper price would be fair.

Also, CFTR does still exist, I have the room on my HQ.

Hydrokinesis - The user has the power to draw the water from the ground and surround himself with it, controlling water itself. This will enable the user to breath under water as well by creating a bubble of water to hold in oxygen. The possibilities are endless, although one shouldn't expect to use this while in a desert no more than one should expect to ignite flames underwater.

I thought about that, but then I backed up.

I wouldn't normally suggest it, but at this point there's no real reason not to. Something else I was reading non-rpg related mentioned it and it kinda brought back out.

Lumokinesis - The ability to manipulate and bend light. Through this technique, the user can bend light so as to brighten areas, or diminish them. The advantages gained by this technique are surprising. As all sight is dictated by beams of light, the user can effectively blind his or her opponent simply by bending all light away from the warrior. With no beams of light reaching the eyes of the opponent, the opponent can not see anything. Conversely, the warrior could bend more light toward his or her opponent's eyes, thereby overloading the optic nerve and generating a more painful blindness. Such a usage is similar in scope to the widely used technique "Solar Flare", but more controllable, and powerful. In fact, through the bending of light, the user can make objects appear to be in a place they are not. There are other usages, of course, but all such manipulation requires an overwhelming amount of control and finesse. Note that this technique is merely manipulation of light, and not generation. The warrior cannot amplify light beyond the total amount available in the area around him or her.

That is cool. Now make one to bend shadows.

That's essentially what Lumokinesis is. Shadows are simply the areas where light is not bent. By being able to bend light away from areas through lumokinesis, one can create and manipulate shadow.

Theoretically, one could cover themselves completely in shadow, bending all light away from themselves. It would take a large amount of energy to sustain, but one could make oneself invisible in that way. Of course, they could still be sensed.

If Staff does decide to use that one, I highly suggest a Tier system for the Tech.
