Ok.

Any other comments about classes? I generally prefer either tanks or support, but I'm decent enough at anything.

Shamans are buffers and sometimes tanks, so you could be that, although you'd only be able to play them as Horde until January, and I'm alliance so we couldn't play together. I like Shamans, but they've been nerfed so that everything beats them in PVP right now. And they have no late game. In January alliance will get Shammys too, but Paladins are already on alliance, and when horde get pallies, they'll stop using shammies b/c pallies can wear plate and shammies only mail.

I'd recommend Paladin for you, they are also one of the "good" classes post patch right now. When attacked on a pvp server, they can "bubble-hearth" which is this spell that removes all debuffs on them and makes them immune for a certain length of time, then they can use their hearthstone to "get the hell out of there" to keep from lame camps and stuff. Nifty for them.

Additionally, just like Warlocks, you won't have to actually get the large amount of gold (for a starting character) to get your lvl 40 original mount, but instead can quest for it. By Quest, I mean you will go talk to someguy and he'll be like "wtf u pwn?" and you be like "omg xtreme" and he goes "oshit beer" and the two of you go dancing in a field of flowers before you get your mount. Mine is a flaming horse, yours would just be some golden armored horse. But our mounts are FREE at 40. We do quest for our 60's too, which others have to pay alot, but I don't know about you but my 60 mount quest is a bit difficult and still expensive for the mats used for it.

In general, thinking over it... I think Pally is a good start for you, given the range of abilities, the fact that you can buff people, and the fact that you'll always be needed for groups while having fantastic end game for raids and still great pvp (although not the gods of pvp that warlocks, rogues, and hunters seem to be) and you can wear PLATE. You'll be a bit expensive on the gear repair costs like any tank would, but you can either tank or heal, and always buff. I have a small lvl 4/5 Pally I've played around with on a friend's server (named her Givememoney) just to talk to him when I'm bored. Some human female I usually leave dancing naked on a mailbox while I'm talking to him. With a big warhammer.

I tried Warlocks. And to be honest, I hated them. I was a undead Warlock, for the record. Not that they aren't good, but well, didn't like to play as them. Not my style.

However, I liked the Hunters/Warriors. Mainly Hunters. Bows rock.

Meh, I don't like Undead just for the drearyness. They do rock with abilities, but I like my annoying Gnome. Him and his Jar-Jar Binks voice.

If you only played an hour though, its hard to judge them, b/c at that stage they are essentially the same as Mages and just nuking things till you get a few (more than one) pets, I didn't like it till I got my lvl 10 pet and didn't REALLY like it till my 20 (Succubus that walks around smacking her ass all the time, its hilarious)

Hunters have great pets and I will probably make one as my next character. They are broken in pvp right now, but I wouldn't make one for sheer brokeness, since I've been considering them for a while now, since prepatch. I like them b/c they are fantastic farmers so if I needed to go earn gold, I could use them instead of my lock who isn't really that great for gold farming (although he's very low maintanence, so he doesn't cost much and I still am sitting on a good amount of gold given that I never farm and don't have to worry about keeping my equipment in top levels like other classes. I can be lazy about that and not be required to update equipment all the time.)

I don't like Warriors. At all. I never have liked tanking classes, nor the "push this button and sit back and watch" classes. I know there is more to them, but from trying them, I've not liked them. I'm going to obviously try them again at some point, but I've always been a caster kinda guy, aside from monks a few times. Also, the fact that most Warriors that I've met in game are complete utter f'ing morons hasn't helped. Seriously, they don't know how to tank. I'm talking about all the casters and the healing having no mana, and while we are drinking to restore mana, he is jumping up and down on the screen going "LETS GO LETS GO COMON!!!" and goes off to pull stuff right onto us, THEN he can't keep aggro on him which is his job. THEN he blames everyone else. I'm saying Warriors that use Intimidating Shout to fear away all the things around them, then go "THE WARLOCK FEARED OMG NOOB" when I couldn't have done it (look at screen to make sure, but people always assume if anything fears it came from the warlock when in truth 4 classes have the ability) and I've seen Warriors try to tank while using a two handed weapon in beserk stance, meaning they are actually doing dps and not tanking. They think doing more dmg is the same as building aggro, but it isn't. They should be in Defensive stance spamming aggro gaining abilities, which almost always say "causes high threat" on the tooltip.

They seem fun, but they are your typical solo hybrid class. Look really fun though, and get travel abilities early and can even get a flight form after the expansion, but I will admit that the patch improved their grouping powers alot with some great healer abilities. Rad might not mind a Druid either, since you get to support and heal alot while also tanking, but the thing is you won't tank nearly as well late game as Pallies and Warriors, and you will have to either spec for one or the other, which my friend is getting annoyed at from respecing back and forth and having to get two sets of gear for those purposes. A few classes deal with that, but I think Pallies can handle it a bit easier. Druids are like a hybrid of mage, priest, and warrior.

The only reason I made it is because I got bored with my Elf Hunter, I still play it, but yeah. I'm having fun with my druid.

And to tell the truth, I haven't made a Warlock. I think im going to to make one tonight, just to try it out. They seem really good.

Apparently they have a huge learning curve. I don't know if I agree with that, as it came natural to me, but to be fair, I've always enjoyed classes similar, employing the root 'n nuke tactic or bleed them through dots. I was a Necro as one of my classes in EQ, which is very similar, although I never played EQ enough to level much, just got a monk to 20. I like control in any game, be it Controllers on CoH or playing whatever the current control deck is in Magic. Its just my style, I like to be indirect.

I guess I can agree with the learning curve thing as I've met some absolutely retarded Warlocks as well, some that constantly use AoE on a single mob, things like that. MORONs that cause constant wipes and make me shamed to be a lock with them. Its underplayed b/c most people don't play it effectively at all. The few that do do it well enough to get nerf locks cries. A large majority that play locks only play it b/c they got owned by one at some point and heard they were powerful so they figured they'd ride it out, and learn it doesn't work that way. Contrary to popular belief, we do not have an "i win" button (although I had my Deathcoil hotkeyed to say "EZ Button" at one point since that's the usual claim we have made at us) nor are we "EZ MODE" like we get told. There are a lot of difficulties, but if you learn through it, its rewarding.

Honestly, I wouldn't accept a fair judgement on the class unless you have it to at least 40, b/c until then, you haven't experienced enough of their powers like Death Coil and such to really understand. That number seems to be the avg level that people truely bond with their locks, the make or break level.
