I disagree with you on the romance bit Milk. The Romance in this game is a lumpy afterthought, not a very good waifu game. Its even worse than ME2. Which is also a negative but its not in the way you're saying it is.

You can't judge what the game contains based on the fan reaction or the very cherry -picked images;

a)Nerds have been fawning over game females since before there was any romance at all, its what we do, there could be no romance options at all and you'd find everyone discussing the various ladies.

b) Those graphics are shit and are not at ALL what I've been seeing on my 2.8ghz Dual core with 2 gigs of ram and a nVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT. Hardly a beast. The design choices themselves are worse in all respects but the elves(still not there yet) and the pauldrons though.

and

c) The writers can act and say whatever they want, but the dialogue is very well done in this game. The characters are defined, and they interact believably. The over all plot is non-existent and most quests are boring and uninteresting, though, I'll cede that.

But its wrong to judge a game's writing because one of their writers is a moron. If the game has good writing then it has good writing, I don't care if one of the writers can't function creatively unless they have a frog around their dick as long as I enjoy the game I'm playing.

Really? I chose the basic one first time through. For my mage I chose the dwarven noble. Thus Alistair and Anora were left in power together. I'll have to pay attention to the differences this time. Going to purposely make different decisions as well.

[spoiler]It affects certain side quests, as far as I'm aware. I helped protect a guy who had been a werewolf from revenge-seeking dalish. I assume that would be different/non-existent if I kept the werewolves in the first one.[/spoiler]

Aw, I'd have let him live if I knew that. I mostly murdered him for his staff and the blood magic robes he dropped. SEE WHAT I GET FOR BEING GREEDY!

Also, despite my dislike for all the changes and the general laziness of reused zones and getting tired of the combat way sooner, this game definitely has some good points.
Although there's almost no interaction with party members,I feel the interactions between each other are vastly more hilarious and interesting, and this game has tons of awesome one-liners. "As soon as you stick your thumb up his ass, I win." for instance and many others.

As I slog through the dull combat and empty zones those are just enough to make me play a little bit more for that next lol.

Also: Bethany=hawt.
